Sejun's POV
I had a hard time sleeping that night. My family had stopped by to see how I was doing. Mom cried as soon as she saw me.
"Thank God He's watching over you, Pau," Dad told me.
Mom had volunteered to stay and be my watcher and I got an earful from her the whole night for not being careful.
She was feeding me warm sinigang soup for dinner.
"Pau, what happened? Why were you in an accident?" She asked me as she poured water on a glass.
"Why weren't you being careful?" She added.
I shrugged.
I got hit on the shoulder.
"Ouch!" I protested. My mom never hurts me. She must have been really mad.
"I was so scared, Pau," Mom said. "Why did that even happen?"
"It won't happen again," I reassured her. "I swear."
"I thought you were busy? You have a comeback to prepare for. Why were you out on the streets driving to who knows where?"
I really did not want to answer. I tried very hard not to squirm under her piercing, interrogating gaze
"Gab and I fought," I finally answered after about 30 seconds of silence.
Mom just stared.
Crickets. Crickets. Crickets.
"So....kayo na ulit?" Mom asked, doubtful. Though I never told her about Gab being married to Drake, I had told Mom that getting back together with Gab would be difficult. Moonshot.
"No. We just fought."
Mom sighed. "You fought. She left. You drove after her and here you are at the hospital. Great story, Paulo."
"Ma!" I whined.
"You're not kids anymore. Just tell her how you feel," Mom huffed. She sounded exasperated. Well, she looked exasperated too.
"It's not that easy," I told her.
"Yes it is. It's that easy. Nothing stands in your way. You have no dating ban now. You can date Gab freely. Your real fans would understand that you've got a life to live."
Mom made it sound so easy.
But you know, Ma? You're rooting for Gab but she's married.
"Just sleep, Pau. You need it," Mom told me. She grabbed her purse. "I'm going to 360 Pharmacy across the street. I need to buy water. Okay?"
"Okay."
Mom then left. I got up and went to the left side corner of the room where a big window was placed. I opened the blinds. There was nothing much to see but I stared anyway.
I stared until Mom came back and shooed me back on the bed.
I stared all through out the night. I could not sleep. I wish I had my guitar but it was safely tucked in my bedroom back at our condo.
I kept thinking about what my mama said. Nothing stands in our way. I can date Gab freely.
Well, she's wrong.
I have always listened to my mom. This time though, it seems prudent to listen to myself.
Because Gab's vows to Drake stands in my way.

Gab's POV
Drake had to drag me by the hair to Sejun's hospital room the next morning.
