Chapter 16

"Oh well here you go Miss (Name), it's very beautiful!" Maria smiled as she gave you your ribbon back.

"Thank you." you said as you took your ribbon and tied your hair back with it.

Then you suddenly remembered something.

{flashback}

"(Name), be careful around Maria Kurenai." Zero whispered as he and Aidou took off.

{end of flashback}

You remembered what Zero told you began backing away.

"Um thank you for my ribbon, see ya!" You said in a rush as you were about to leave.

"Wait! Don't leave!" Maria cried as she grabbed your arm.

"Yes? Is something wrong?" You asked, looking back at her.

"I'm really lost. Could you lead me to where the cafe terrace is?" She asked with a cute look on her face.

"But shouldn't you be back at the Moon Dormitory. You can ask Yuki to take you to the cafe terrace after class." you said.

"I can't! The cafe is closed during night class hours." Maria whined. "Please..." she begged with a puppy face.

"Alright...I'll take you. But when we get there, promise to go right back to the dorms, ok?" You sighed.

Maria let go of you and smiled brightly, clapping her hands with delight. You grinned at the delighted vampire.

"Maria seems so innocent. I don't understand why Zero wants me to stay away from her." You thought to yourself.

{at the school roof top}

Aidou and Zero stood at the terrace above the cafe. Aidou stood at the edge of the terrace, looking down at the Day Class girls surrounding them.

"Hmm. It seems that when you're with me, the girls are too scared to come up here. This is convenient." Aidou chuckled.

"So...is Maria Kurenai related to that woman?" Zero interrupted.

" "That woman"?" Aidou repeated.

"Shizuka Hio." Zero added.

{in the halls}

You and guided Maria towards the cafe terrace in silence.

"Um...if you don't mind me asking..." Maria began as you turned faced her. "Are you and Yuki related somehow since you both are the Headmaster's daughters." she finished with a question.

"No, we aren't blood related, just foster siblings. But I do think of her like she's my real sister." you answered with a smile and Maria smiled back. "But she can be a little reckless, well too reckless and obnoxious sometimes..." you began to talk to yourself in rage as hatred fire burned all around you.

Maria trembled at your hatred fire and laughed nervously.

"Is that...so..." Maria said quietly.

"Huh? Oh sorry, my anger kinda got to me. I'm still a bit upset about Yuki leaving me to deal with those wild beasts (the Day Class girls)." you said while forcing a smile. "Well, shall we go?" You said as you took Maria's hand in yours and pulled her down the hall.

"How insolent of you to speak of a Pureblood in such a poor manner...but I can understand that she did kill your parents." Aidou smirked. "Yes...the Kurenai and Hio families are related long ago." he confessed.
