Chapter 16

"Your neck. Is something the matter?" She asked out of concern.

"The wound that woman gave me is throbbing." Zero replied.

"That woman..." Yuki repeated to herself.

"Every night I'd remember that night she toyed with me and my brother in that bloodbath." Zero mentioned. "I was able to live on because--" he began when Yuki suddenly placed her hand gently over his.

"What happened today...Zero?" Yuki smiled. "You're acting weird, I'm worried. Are you sleepy, I'll make some coffee..." she said as she began walking towards the kitchen when Zero came up behind her and gently held her hand. "Zero, come on what's wrong?" She began to be overwhelm with worry.

{at the Moon Dormitory}

Kaname was in his room playing chess when Maria came.

"That body...that name...at first I was wondering at how to respond." Kaname admitted.

"Really? I was not trying to fool you." Maria said with a serious face, for some reason Maria has changed.

"It was offensive. You just wanted to play around with us." he said.

"Me, play a game? When did you grow up and start looking at things so conscientiously? We are both Purebloods." she grinned.

{back to Zero and Yuki}

"Zero? Do you...want my blood?" Yuki asked.

Zero's gentle touch began to grip her hand.

"I think I was able to live on because you were beside me, Yuki." He proclaimed, releasing her hand and grabbing his jacket to leave.

"Don't forget what I've taught you. I'm going back to the dorm." Zero reminded her.

"I will, good night, Zero. Thanks for tutoring me." Yuki grinned.

"Yeah. Good night." He said then left, leaving Yuki alone.

Zero put on his jacket, walking in speed like he was in a hurry or something. As he opened the door, it seemed you were already about to open it (since your hand was on the door knob). You were caught by surprise seeing Zero.

"Zero? Ehehe, sorry I'm late, I kinda fell asleep studying for the exams and totally forgot that I was supposed to help Yuki study. Is Yu--" you rambled but was interrupted by Zero.

Zero placed his hand on your head and began ruffling your (h/l) (h/c) hair, but not roughly...more like gently and calm. You gazed up at Zero with those sparkly (e/c) eyes.

"Zero? What are you doing?" You asked.

Zero just smiled warmly towards you and moved his hand to the back of your head and slowly pressed his forehead up against yours. His grey hair reflecting off the moonlight. Now you were really concerned towards Zero's behavior.

"Zero, what's the matter? Do you...need my blood?" You asked with worry in your eyes but Zero just grinned and chuckled a bit.

"You and Yuki...you both act so alike. You two have always been there for me, offering your blood for me to drink, caring for me when I don't need it. I don't get you sometimes." Zero explained.

"Zero..." you muttered as you began to reach for his face but was stopped when he grabbed your wrist.

"I'm going back to the dorm. Good night." he says as he lowered your hand to your side and began to walk away.

You turned to face him, as he left. You touched your wrist (the one that Zero touched) and began to suddenly have this bad feeling about something. You continued standing there when Yuki came rushing to the door.

"Yuki, what's the matter?" You asked as you faced her.

"Have you seen Zero?" She asked.

"Yeah, he just left to go to the dorm." you replied.

Yuki looked toward the direction where Zero disappeared to and took off.

"Ah, wait! Yuki!" You called out as you chase after her.

{at the school}

Zero appeared in what seem to be the main hall where...Maria...waited.

"So, you can sense me because there is a bond between us." Maria said as Zero came towards her and grabbed her firming, pressing his bloody rose to her heart. "You finally came to kill me...Zero." she smirked.
