Chapter 7: Twists and Traitors

"She got injured. They say she can't walk."

"Oh..." Everyone sat down and ate their food. You sat next to Endorsi and Hatz, and across from Khun.

"I told you, he disappeared," Rak exclaimed as he raised his arms up, "that slow turtle just vanished. Poof! Like that."

"He did what?" Hatz stopped eating and asked.

"How did he just disappear? That's weird..." you wondered.

"Princess Endorsi, isn't he the one on your team?" Shibisu asked as he gave Endorsi a suspecting look.

"Yeah, he is, but I don't really know him very well," Endorsi replied as she shoved a piece of food into her mouth, "He never spoke to me at all. I mean... When I first met him in that field, he was already with Rachel."

"Careful," Khun said as he looked up from his meal.

"What? No point in hiding it anymore." Endorsi took another bite of her food. "I think everyone knows she's the girl that Bam's been looking for all this time."

"Thanks for the food." Khun said as he got up from the table and walked away. His face looked troubled.

"Come on, let's at least try to enjoy our lunch together," Shibisu said as he gave Khun an annoyed look.

"H-hey, maybe we should just leave him be, okay Shibisu? I think Khun wants some time alone right now..." You looked back and forth between Shibisu's annoyed look, and Khun who was walking away. Shibisu's face softened when you spoke up. "I-if you want... I could try talking to him later?"

"That sounds like a good idea, (name)," Shibisu smiled and everyone continued their lunches in silence.

It was much later in the day, so you decided to then go check up on Khun. You made your way to his room, but you could hear some sort of commotion inside. You knocked lightly on the door, but the noise inside was too loud in comparison.

"Um... Khun?" You asked out loud. "Are... you okay? I wanted to check on you..." You noticed that the door was unlocked and partially open. 'Well, here goes nothing... Please don't walk in on anything weird.... Please don't walk in on anything weird... Please don't walk in on anything-'

"(Name)?" Khun asked as he gave you a confused look.

"Small turtle!" Rak shouted from his pile of chocolate bars. 'Khun must've duplicated all those, I'm sure. And wait... small turtle? But I'm bigger than you... Wait, why is Rak small?'

"Oh... Uh... Hi." You smiled and awkwardly waved. "I just wanted to make sure you were alright, but it seems Rak has already checked up on you, so I guess I'll be going now..." Khun gave you a look of suspicion. "Okay, I'm staying." You sat down on the bench across from Khun's bed.

"If you just want chocolate bars," Khun said as he glared at Rak, "or to just see if I'm alright, then you can go." Khun then looked at you with a slightly softer expression.

"Damn it, I'll have to go play with the black turtle now!" Rak said as he continued to down more chocolate bars.

"Please don't. You need to stay away from him."

"Wait, why? Is it because of what he might be going through right now...?" You asked as you furrowed your eyebrows.

"Bam won't advance to the next level."
