I watch as dad kisses her cheek before she steps onto the platform, taking Seulgi's hand and handing me her flowers. She meets my eye as she does this, giving me a small wink.
I watch them the whole ceremony, watching as they can barely take their eyes off of each other. Five years later and they still look at each other like they are the only ones in the room.
I watch as Seulgi glances away only for a second, to grab the rings from Garam, her brother, the best man. I smile, listing to their vows, knowing they meant every word they were saying.
Once it is over, they start down the aisle, Garam following, proceeded by Mino and me and then, Yeri and Carter.
It is another few hours after all of the photos were taken that we make it to the reception room. I smile, seeing the purple streaks everywhere, knowing it was Irene's favourite colour.
The room is packed as I make my way to the top table, taking my seat. I quickly locate Jisoo, settling me somewhat. I sit through my father's speech, followed by Garam's. I laugh throughout it, as does most of the guests.
After he finishes, he introduces me. I gulp, my nerves hitting me. Irene looks over at me in surprise. I smile at her before standing. I notice Rosé come over from her table, saying something to the man with her computer in front of him.
"Hi, my name is Jennie. I would like to share something with everyone today. I don't know how many of you have heard the full story of how Seulgi proposed to my sister. It starts about a month before she actually did it. Seulgi phoned me one day, asking for my help. Now, anyone who knows Irene and me, knows we don't keep secrets. So here was Seulgi phoning me up, asking me to keep this huge secret from her. I can't remember the amount of times in that month I almost let it spill, however, I was able to keep the secret, much to Seulgi's surprise. I think she expected me to let it slip and save her from having to guess Irene's answer." I say, hearing a few laughs around the room, including Irene and Seulgi. My nerves are starting to get to me, so I let my eyes fall on the table near the front, where I can see Seulgi's old football friends. Jisoo is sitting in the middle, her full attention focused on me, a small smile playing on her lips.
"That day on the phone, she asked me to help her carry out her plan for the proposal. So, a month after this phone call, Irene and Seulgi appear on my doorstep. This wasn't unusual for Irene as they were always coming up for the odd weekend. I don't think she had any idea that that weekend would change her life. What she also likely still doesn't know, is that Seulgi asked for Rosé, who works in a photography studio, to have the whole thing filmed." I say, seeing Irene's eyes widen. I try and keep my smile under control as I continue. "So, for those who have heard the story and for those who haven't, I would like to present to you their engagement video which was taken this exact day last year," I say, nodding to Rosé.
The lights go down as I sit back in my seat. Behind me a screen comes down, making everyone at the top table have to turn to watch it.
The screen starts off black, before their names appear and the date of the engagement. I watch as Irene and Seulgi walk along the water shore, their favourite place in the city. I smile remembering this day so clearly.
Looking at them, you can see how nervous Seulgi is. She is pointing to something in the water. I can see movement at the side of the screen, already knowing what it was.
You see Seulgi glance over her shoulder, a small smile appearing on her lips before she says something, making Irene turn around again. Her face is struck with shock, unbelieving. The camera moves, allowing us to be seen.
There Mino, Yeri, Jisoo, myself and Garam where, standing in that order, each holding a decorated piece of cardboard, with a word on it, reading, 'Will You Marry Me?"
