With his hair still slightly damp from his shower, Donghyuck makes his way up to the Astronomy tower, a slight sprint in his step as he knew that Mark was already there waiting for him. It had been an unbelievably long day, and Donghyuck just wanted to close his eyes and relax in Mark's arms.
As he reaches the top of the stone stairs, the air now having a slight chill, Donghyuck spots his boyfriend sat cross-legged as he stares out at the silhouettes of the world, glancing up from the shadowed landscape to the twinkling angel fire above.
Donghyuck stands there for a moment, just basking in how Mark looked in the moonlight, before Andromeda squawks, alerting her handler of another's presence. As Mark turns to look back, Donghyuck then crosses the room towards him.
"Sorry I'm a little late" Donghyuck apologises, planting a kiss to Mark's cheek as he settles down next to him, their knees knocking against one another's, "Potions ran on a bit"
"This was your first one-on-one lesson, right?" Mark asks, watching how Andromeda moves closer to his boyfriend, holding her head high as Donghyuck reaches out to pet her, "How did it go?"
"I was oddly nervous" Donghyuck summarises as usually potions is where he's in his element,"But I'll get better though"
"I'm sure you will" Mark agrees, the determined look in Donghyuck's eyes bringing a smile to his face.
It's only when Andromeda steps back, returning to the edge of the tower that the two were sat just in front of, that Donghyuck notices a small brown paper package just in front of Mark, "Did you get a parcel?"
With a knowing smile at what was about to come, Mark just pushes the package towards Donghyuck, gesturing for him to be the one to open it.
With a slight quizzical look, Donghyuck reaches out to unwrap whatever was sent, however, his caution doesn't last long as when he discards the first layer of paper, a familiar warming smell greets Donghyuck, as he looks back at Mark with wide eyes.
His boyfriend only laughs when Donghyuck tears the rest of the paper away, leaving behind six gorgeously thick chocolate chip and cherry cookies.
"Your mum sent you cookies? These ones are the best!" Donghyuck cheers, to which Mark can't help but chuckle at his enthusiasm.
"Correction", Mark calls out, now pushing the letter that came with the cookies towards Donghyuck, "My mum sent you these cookies"
With an even wider grin as before, Donghyuck takes the letter into his hands, imagining the words on the parchment being spoken by Mark's mother. It opens with the usual 'I hope you arrived at Hogwarts safely' and also 'the nest feels so empty' with both Mark and Donghyuck away and with Leia at school all day- Donghyuck found it a little weird that muggles refer to their homes as 'nests' but the sentiment was endearing.
Reading the next part, Donghyuck feels his cheeks begin to ache from smiling so.
'Andromeda will have also brought some cookies for Donghyuck since they're his favourite. I was also going to send a recipe but I thought that would be a little dangerous considering you take after me in the kitchen as oppose to your father but if Donghyuck wants it then I can have Andromeda drop it off (or better yet invite him back for Christmas break and I can give it to him then!). Make sure you look after each other, and hopefully we'll see you both at Christmas. Love, mum x'
"Have I told you that I love your family?" Donghyuck questions, turning to Mark who looks back at him with the same glimmer in his eyes that was visible in the sky above.
As he reaches over to take Mark's hand in his, Mark notices a slight wince as the Slytherin moves.
"Does your shoulder still hurt?"
