Nobody's POV (3rd person) 2 days later:
Bri woke up, gasping for air, she couldn't breathe at all. It was like her lungs just stopped working. She cried for her older brother, "M-Mike!" She screamed, still not being able to breathe. "Help! I can't breathe!" The tall brown haired boy came running into the room, seeing her hyperventilating trying to breathe.
He didn't hesitate, he picked her up and ran down the stairs rushing to get her into the car, once he started it, he sped down the freeway rushing to get to the emergency room.
Bri still continued struggling to breathe. Why is this happening? She thought to herself. Why can't I breathe?! she started panicking again.
They then arrived at the hospital where the doctors and nurses rushed to help her. Bri was so weak and dizzy from the lack of oxygen that she fainted as the doctors worked, trying to find out why she couldn't breathe.
"Oh my god!" One of the nurses exclaimed, "She's crashing! Somebody get her on a ventilator!" the nurse screamed, not wanting to let the young girl die that day.
Another nurse went to press a button as quickly as she could. "Code blue in room 109. I repeat code blue in room 109." A monotone voice announced from the intercom, with the help of the announcement, more doctors and nurses started piling into the small room.
A few hours later
The young girl's eyes started fluttering open, slowly. She looked around the room, seeing that there were tubes in her arms and she was now in a hospital gown. Then, she felt something sort of stab at her throat a little, that was when she noticed she was on a ventilator. Was it really that bad? She questioned So bad that I was put on a damn ventilator? She felt disappointed in herself, disappointed that she was so weak that she needed to have to have a machine breathe for her.
She reached over to a small remote next to her and pressed the button for the nurse. Not long after a blonde, tall woman came into the room, "You're awake!" the beautiful blonde exclaimed, "Is the ventilator bothering you?" she asked while putting on gloves, Bri nodded, "Okay, I'll take you off of it. Since you're able to breathe on your own now." She first shut off the machine, and started to take the tube out of Bri's mouth.
Once the nurse finished taking her off the ventilator she started talking as she cleaned up her supplies, "Do you want me to get your brother? He's just down in the cafeteria." the nurse asked pointing towards the door. "Uh, yes please." Bri said with a raspy voice, her throat scratchy because of the tube she had. "Okay! I'll be back with him." The nurse smiled as she finished taking off her gloves and washing her hands.
After a couple minutes the tall, brown haired boy came into the room. "Hey, you" he said smiling, his eyes droopy since he didn't get to sleep. "Hi.." the girl said in a sort of whisper "What happened that caused me to not be able to breathe?" Bri asked. She was concerned as to why this happened. The brown haired boy quickly answered, "Well, they said it was something about your lungs being worked too much."
Bri was confused she didn't exercise so much, so how could they be worked too much? Her brother pulled her out of her thoughts as he continued speaking. "The doctors said you might have to stay her for a few more days. It's a good thing you finished all your classes for senior year, and don't have to go to school anymore."
The teenage girl nodded. Yeah, good thing. But what am I supposed to do while I'm here? "And I know you're confused and questioning what you're gonna do here," Mike said as if he could read her mind, "I have a special surprise planned for you tomorrow." He said grinning. What would the surprise be?
