A missing piece

-Y/ns Pov-
We finish our jog and head back to our rooms, as I approach mine, I notice Tendou standing there with something in his hands. He turns and smiles widely, fully turning to me, I see that hes holding the volleyball I gave him when we were younger in his hands.
"Ah hello hello n/n~ where did you wander off too earl-i in the mornin?"
"Oh, I went on a run with Ushijima."
He hums and boops my nose "wanna eat breakfast with me~?" I nod and his smile grows.
"Let me just get cleaned and freshened up." he nods and I enter my room. I change out of my clothes and put on my uniform, I spray dry shampoo in my hair and rake my figures through it, then washing my face and spraying perfume on. I smile at my lack of self-care knowledge and sigh. I walk out and im greeted by both Ushijima and Tendou.
"Oh, hey Ushijima"
"Hello, I was wondering if you would like to have breakfast with me, but Tendou told me that you guys were going to go. Do you mind if I joined you?"
I glance over at Tendou, his smile small and he nods.
"Sure"
Ushijima nod "thank you."
I step forward and close the door behind me, and we walk to the cafeteria, both Tendou and Ushijima walking behind me. I start to feel self conscious and turn around, Tendou tilting his head and raising an eyebrow and Ushijima looking at me. "Could you guys either walk next to me or infront? It...i Kinda feel uncomfortable walking in front of you guys." Tendou walks up and wraps an arm around my shoulders.
"Why of course n/n~"
Ushijima steps up and walks slightly ahead on us. We enter the cafeteria and He takes a seat "I'll wait here to hold the table down, you guys go get food."
"Thank you Ushijima"
"Why thank you ushiwaka, how very kind of our ever stoic man~"
-Tendous POV-
I take y/n to the line and we grab trays.
"So n/n, how'd ya sleep?"
"The exact way I used to as a kid."
"Always crawling in my bed and poking me until I'm awake~?"
I watch as her face turns red and she looks away. "Don't say that out loud Tendou"
I chuckle and pat her head "there there, you can always knock on my door anytime to sleep~"
She hides her face behind her tray and I smile. "Tennnndou stooooop!" The line moves and I go behind her, slightly pushing her forward. "What are you doing?"
"Can't hold up the line now can we? No no thats not very polite n/n~"
She pats my hands and I let go, she grabs some food and I grab the same, she gives me a side glance "whaaaat, am I not allowed to pick up some food~?"
She sighs and we make our way back to our seats. Ushijima stands up and leaves to go grab his breakfast. I sit next to her and start to dig into the breakfast as she picks at it.
"Are you gonna play with it or eat?"
She shakes her head and quickly takes a bite. "Obviously eat it.." I give her a look and she sighs "I'm just not that hungry in the mornings. Normally I skip breakfast."
I feel a bit hurt and I nudge her "hey missy, didn't you ever listen to the nutritionists in Elementary school, BrEaKfAsT iS tHe MoSt ImPoRtAnT mEaL oF tHe DaY" she chuckles and takes another bite.
"I know..I just don't get an appetite."
"Then I guess I'll have to steal you away every morning to make sure you eat."
"You'll have to catch me first."
"Why does he have to catch you?" Ushijima sits down across from us and looks at her.
"Tendou said that he would steal me to make sure I eat breakfast."
"Breakfast-"
"See even he knows, cooome on n/n."
Ushijima sighs and starts to eat his breakfast.
-Ushijimas POV-
I glance up from my food a few times, watching as Tendou talks animatedly to y/n, still picking at her food. She catches my gaze and looks down at her food, quickly taking a bite.
"I feel like both of you are silently yelling at me."
"Well we are, right Ushiwaka?"
I nod "You need to eat to be healthy, even if its something small. Just make sure you eat."
She sighs and Takes another bite, then pushes her tray forward.
"Well class is about to start, and I need to get my stuff ready. See you guys later."
She leaves and I watch her figure walk away, Tendou doing the same. He turns to me and his face serious. "Wakatoshi, are you interested interested in her, or interested in just bringing back her old self."
"I wouldn't mind being with her."
"I hope you know I won't hand her over easily wakatoshi." he stands up "I also don't want this to crumble our dear friendship. So lets make this a friendly competition." with that, he leaves and heading in the same direction as y/n.
"I wont lose either."  I stand up and grab the trays and throw them out. I head back to my dorm room and grab my school bag. I stop in front of my desk and take a picture of y/n and I hugging and slip it in my pocket. I walk out and lock my dorm room and lock it behind me and head to class.
-time skip-
I leave my class for lunch and meet up with the team, minus Tendou. Goshiki sitting to my left and Shirabu to my right. I keep my eyes trained on the door and wait for Y/n and Tendou to appear.
"-jima, Ushijima?"
"Hm?"
"You ok? Your staring at the door like its an opponent." Goshiki pats my shoulder
"I'm just lost in thought, I'm fine."
"If you say so." He Turns away and starts to eat his lunch, I on the other hand turn my gaze back to the door way and see y/n and Tendou walking in. She notices my stare and waves, I nod and they take their seat in front of me.
"Ushiwaka, cant lil miss n/n watch us for practice pwetty pwease?"
I shrug slightly "I don't see why not."
She sighs and rubs the back of her head. "I actually planned on hanging out with my dad right after school actually."
"Gah"Tendou gasps and pulls out his phone "I am sending him a complaint!"
"What, why?"
"Cause I want you to watch me block everyone~"
"We could always meet her at her dads after practice." I mention and Tendou pouts.
