Memory Road

Claire POV

"Hey you remember this harbor?" Brandon turned to it and stopped. I took a glimsped of and right away remembered. "Of course I do my mom use to take me here everday weekend with brothers" I told.

"Anything else?" He asked. I knew what he was trying to bring back. "When you pushed me into the water because I took your fishing rod" I rolled my eyes as he laughed.

"We were 9 and fishing was my hobby back then" He nudged my shoulder. "Plus I helped you get out after" He continued.

"Thanks Kinght in Shining Armor, you didn't even jump in you tried throwing a rope at me" I recalled what happened. "Pleasure doing business" He gave a bow and grinned .

We continued to walk and we made another stop  near the River Court. "Hey look it's Carter, what's he doing?" Brandon questioned. I looked down avoiding the fact of seeing him, I didn't want anything to do with him after today.

"Can we leave please, I'm not in the mood to talk to him or see him" I confessed looking up at him. "Why what happened between you guys?" Brandon asked.

"It's nothing.." I mumbled. Brandon quickly understood and finished that topic as we began walking again.

Most of the way back was pretty silent we spoke a couple of times, but it wasn't much. Once we finally arrived at my house Brandon asked one more time.

"Claire you're my best friend and I'd like to be there for you, but I can't if you're goimg to keep a secret from me that's obviously bothering me" He spoke, his eyes were gloom and I could tell he was really worried.

Even with that I still didn't want to tell him, "It's nothing I promise" I showed a fake smile, he finslly gave up "Okay.." He said slowly.

He turned around, and began walking to hsi house "I'll see you tommorrow Claire" He threw a little wave.  I looked towards to my house and took two steps before I turned back and looked at him.

Actually it wasn't okay, nothing was. "Brandon wait!" I ran up to him, once he turned around I gave him the biggest hug I possibly could. "To be honest this last week nothing has been okay" I confessed. "And today..." I paused, tears ran down my face because I couldn't hold it in cause it hurt so much.

"My heart broke into a thousand pieces" "It's I cared too much, and in the end it left a big scar" I tried making sense to him, he knew who it was but he stood there speechless, "It's gonna be okay, trust me been through it" He made a small joke out of it. It did make a small smile appear on my face.

I wiped the tears falling down my face "Yeah, sorry about that it's was one of the biggest mistakes I made" I realized it till now, I rejected one of the biggest person who has been there for me.

Actually it wasn't,  it was the best decision I rather us friends, than ever be the one to make you cry like this ever again" He looked at me and smiled.  He was right.

"Me too.." I smiled back, all the thoughts about what happened early went away and made me to come to realize that I shouldn't even care. If Carter doesn't care, then I'm not going to waste my energy to either.

"Thanks Brandon" I thanked him, "For what?" He continued to smile. "Just being by my side"

He put his arm around my shoulder "I'll be there for you as one of your best friends till the very last"

River Court

Carter POV

It's 8 p.m  and I sat  in court just waiting for Rebecca's arrival. After about 10 minutes I see her car pull up in the the parking lot. I get up from my seat waiting for her to come closer. "So what was it you wanted to show me?" She asked.

I spread my hands and revealed the full court. An odd facial expression occurred on her face. "I don't get it there is nothing?" She pointed out. "Yes there is nothing but" I paused and took a small walk around the court. "Many weeks ago, you told me this was where you and brother use to hang out right?" I questioned her.

"Yes, but it was closer over there" she pointed over to the tree. "Follow me there I got a suprise" I held on to her hand and guided towards the tree. When we arrived there was an Ipad lying over. She oddly gazed at me. "Click it" I said.

She picked the iPad and clicked the home button revealing a Skype call. She answered and within a few things her face cried with excitement.

"Oh my gosh Wesley" She could hardly breathe due to the excitement. "Hey sis" He gave a big smile and waved. "Thank you're friend Carter for setting this up" He said through the call.

I popped my head in "Boyfriend now" I smirked. "She looked at me and reached in for a hug "How'd you...get a hold of him" She could barely speak.

"Actually I've been planning this awhile, ever since you told me, I felt bad and after being kidnapped and all I searched the whole web for him" I paused.

Wesley finished the rest of the story "The suprise was going to come later on, where I'd had actually meet you in person when we would have first met again, but Carter had said he needed it come a bit earlier than planned" He explained.

"It's gets better" I started saying "In a couple a of days, I'll be comimg home!" He piped.

Tears of joy came down her face. "When mom and dad find out they're going to be so happy I promise you, they missed you so much" She told.

"Don't tell them, I want it to be a suprise"

She nodded her "Hey I got to go now but I can't wait till I see you sis, and you got a real good boyfriend over there I approve off" He chuckled the last part before going offline.

Rebbeca gave me kiss "I love you so much you know that, this is the best thing someone has done for me" I couldn't help but give her another hug "I had to make up" I stated. I felt all the mixed feeling I've been having lately are gone for now hopely. Things are rough, but right now in this moment everything is great and that's all that matters.

"Hey so you want to ditch this place and get some food, I'm super hungry" I confess, but really I haven't had anything since that lame dentention.  She laughed "Yes please! I'm feeling Karen's Café"

"You took the words out of my mouth" I smile back.
