(This whole Chapter is a flashback)

I held the elder lady in my arms. Helping her down onto the nearby bench. She sighed, chuckling as she patted my hand in appreciation. She smiled at me, showing her teeth, thanking me over and over again for helping her cross the street. I returned her smile with one of my own, holding on to her tightly.

"Thank you, young lady." She smiled as she reached into her pockets very slowly. Pulling out her flip phone, "Would you mind giving me your number so I could give it to my grandson?"

I chuckled as I scratched my neck awkwardly, "Ah. I don't know about that. I don't have that much free time on my hands. So, I doubt I could go on a date."

She smiled as she pushed the phone into my hand, "Don't sweat it, sweetheart. My grandson is a patient young man. He'll wait until you're free." Putting a hand over mines, "I insist."

I looked around nervously as she kept pushing the phone into my hand. Insisting, I enter my number into her phone. We stood in the middle of the streets. People were giving us weird looks as they walked by. I sighed as I kept telling her no. But she was very persistent. Very persistent.

I was a small hero back then. I was ranked around the '50s. Nothing big compared to now. Not many people knew me as a hero. So, getting out there was hard. Harder than I had expected. So, I was left here, trying to figure out what to do with my life. I mean, this was a career I had chosen. I was lucky that my parents supported me all the way through.

"Please, young lady. I think you'll suit my grandson. He has a nice face and body."

Now, this was getting weird. And very awkward. But the elder didn't feel the tension around us and continued on with what she was doing the past few minutes. Bothering me. I sighed as I give up. Grabbing her phone, she lit up as she saw me type something into her flip phone.

Out of nowhere, someone ran over to me shouting my name at the top of their lungs. Interrupting me and my typing skills. A male and based on his outfit. Seemed like a local hero came up to me. Panting from the long run over here. I glanced at him in confusion as he tried to catch his breath.

"We need assistance. Back up. Whatever you can offer." He breathed out, "A suicidal attempt at a nearby building. From a street down from here."

He answered my question. I sighed as I handed the flip phone back to the elder woman. She just frowned when she saw the incomplete number I was typing in a second ago. I apologize to her. Rushing off to the building the tired hero was talking about. Leaving the male and the elder behind. In my dust.

"See ya later!"

And I was off. Standing in front of that skyscraper, I glanced up, instantly spotting a young man. I could see the ambulances around me, flashing bright red and white lights. People around me prepared to catch the male. Holding the fabric in their hands. I pushed through the crowd as they surround the place. Curious about what was going on around them. I grunted as I squeezed through the final set of people. They just give me looks of disgust. I brushed their gaze off and stepped under the caution tape.
