Draco and Hermione left the room hand-in-hand, the latter already bouncing with excitement and her head was bursting with ideas. Draco nodded and tried his best to remember everything, knowing he'd have to write it all down.
In all their excitement however, they forgot to check whether they were people in the hallway. Unfortunately, Pansy was lurking around the corner with her group of friends. She quickly ushered the group away with her, not wanting them to see anymore it.
Hermione said the password rather quickly due to her excitement and rushed towards her room, she came out with two quills and a piece of parchment. She pulled Draco, who was watching her from the door, to the kitchen and they sat down together.
She nibbled the top of her quill while coming up with ideas and then quickly scribbling it down. Draco was watching with a smile on her face but after a while Hermione looked up and giggled, "Come on Draco, if you're not going to help. Maybe go find Blaise and Luna, they're from different houses, we'll ask for their ideas."
"I am helping!" Draco argued, "But good idea! I'll go find them, they're probably by the lake."
Hermione nodded and kissed Draco as he walked by to the door, there was one week left and she was deadset on making the best ball ever to make up for everything that had happened the year before.
Draco walked with his hands in his pocket towards the lake, he couldn't help but feel eyes on him everywhere he went in the castle. He brushed it off as paranoia from the war but eventually, he realised he was being followed...
...by Pansy Parkinson.
She ran up to him and shoved him from behind, he turned around and frowned. "What do you want now?"
"So you went ahead and decided to date that mudblood?!" Pansy shrieked.
"Don't call her that! She's a hundred thousand times better than you ever will be, there's no point of insulting her in front of me. This is disgusting, being desperate isn't attractive. Just accept the fact that I'll never be with you! Just give up!"
Draco stormed away fuming but Pansy ran up and hugged him from behind, Draco tried to push her away but she was holding on tightly, giving Draco no room to do so.
However, at that moment, Harry, Ron, Ginny and Lavender had just so happen to come by to see what all the screaming was all about and their eyes widened at the sight of Draco and Pansy. They all shared a look and ran towards the head dorm.
Draco kneeled down in one quick movement under her arms and ran away at full speed. Pansy huffed but turned around and saw Hermione's friends running, knowing she had done what she needed to for them to hopefully break up; she smirked triumphantly.
Draco stopped running once he went outside of Hogwarts and couldn't see Pansy. He power-walked his way over to the lake and caught sight of his best friend and his girlfriend sitting on a picnic rug.
She was laying on his lap while reading a book, and Blaise supported himself with his arms behind him, he stared up into the sky with his eyes closed, daydreaming. Draco went over to them and tapped his shoulder, Blaise opened an eye and smiled, "What's up Dray? What's got you all fuming angry?"
Draco huffed and kicked some rocks towards the lake, "Pansy Parkinson."
Luna put her book down, "What has she done now?"
Blaise wrapped an arm around Luna and looked towards Draco, "She once again, ran up to me, called her mudblood then decides to hug me to avoid me getting away. If someone saw and told Hermione, she'd never talk to me again!"
Both Blaise and Luna rolled their eyes, "You know she wouldn't do that. Is that why you're here?" Luna reasoned before asking.
"No, not at all. She did that on my way here, McGonagall's throwing a Halloween ball and we wanted to ask for some ideas to give her tomorrow."
Blaise smirked, "A great way for both of us to officially announce our relationships."
Draco rolled his eyes, "Well come on, Hermione's brainstorming in the head dorm."
Luna stood up and Blaise quickly packed everything up, they all walked back slowly towards the head dorms.
She heard a lot of feet running which stopped right in front of her dorm, she opened it to see who it was and what was going on but instead she found her friends panting. They all pushed past her and plopped onto the couch out of breath.
She was surprised to see Ron and Harry again so soon after their fight but ignored it. She walked up to them, "Everything okay?"
Lavender shook her head slowly, Ginny's eyes widened in anger; death staring the floor shaking her head. Harry looked annoyingly at the ground as though he expected this was going to happen and Ron crossed his arms smugly.
Hermione found all their actions different and couldn't even begin to imagine what could've happened. "So what's wrong?"
Ron, who usually jumped straight into conclusions, surprisingly sat back without saying anything. Harry just took a deep breath and Lavender looked at Ginny. Ginny had gotten up and started to pace around the coffee table.
"Well you see, we heard some screaming outside of the dorm we were sharing. Sounded like a guy and girl arguing, however we were completely wrong, we saw instead; Pansy hugging Draco from behind. He just stood there, not trying to shrug her off or anything." Ginny said, in a rant like style.
"We couldn't see his emotions though, he faced the other way from us." Lavender added, in hopes of making the situation better.
Hermione took a deep breath, she knew Pansy liked him but Draco didn't like her back and it was only her hugging him. She looked over at Ginny, who stopped pacing to see her reaction.
"You sure that's what you saw?" Hermione asked, Ginny nodded her head.
Ron jumped up, "I told you this would happen didn't I?" Ginny marched over to him smacked his over the head.
She whispered yelled, "Actually you didn't, and you aren't helping matters at all! Shut up and sit down!"
Ron annoyingly sat back down, making faces as Ginny walked back to Hermione, "We're sorry Mione, you alright?" Ginny asked looking both concerned and pitiful.
Hermione didn't want her friend's pity, "I'm fine, I'll just talk to him later."
The portrait swung open and everyone stood frozen in the spot, all staring at each other. Ron and Harry were glaring at Draco and Draco glared right back at them.
Lavender and Ginny were looking at Luna, who was holding hands with Blaise. Although Luna and Blaise didn't mind who saw, they haven't told anyone yet and they wouldn't have known, never in any of the same classes.
Luna and Blaise stood confused at the door, not knowing why there was such an awkward vibe, but also knowing: Luna's friends would be mad that they had to find out about their relationship this way.
Hermione stared blankly at Draco, knowing he was glaring at Harry and Ron. Hermione didn't want nor did she like what was going on, she was the one person in this room to understand why everyone was here. She cleared her throat, "I think it's time we all talked."
