The time read on your phone was 3:15, you where supposed to be home at 3:30. As this was a bit of extra time you walked a little off the trail to get home. You decided to take a train to your hometown and enjoy the forest.

As you did you began to walk to an old place you would talk with a kid named Ortho. He was always nice to you and included you even when you didn't wanna be. Your face turned into a smile as you remembered who he was.

~flashback~

"hey Y\N!" ortho called to you as he hurried to catch up.

the two of you loved to adventure off trail together and explore new places. You never got lost becuse you always knew the way home, even though you wouldn't mind being alone with Ortho.

"Y\N, earth to Y\N!" he called out again as you daydreamed.

"oh, yeah um whats up Ortho?" you franticly spilled out from your mouth. He oodly smiled and began to walk to your place to hang out.

The air around you threw the branches, shaking with buds for new leaves. The sky was bright and it was about noon on a weekend. As you looked to Ortho he was still smiling.

"hey Ortho im just a bit tired is it fine if we hung out tomorrow." you asked not wanting to be mean, also knowing you wheren't tired.

he just nodded and kept sitting there. You wished that you knew that day it would be Ortho's last.

Your shoes hit the ground as you looked down at the stones you kicked. It seemed like a normal day but yet you felt bad, maybe you had made a mistake leaving ortho there. Althoe you wanted to go home you decided to walk ortho home becuse it looked like it would rain.

You decided to run back to him, carfull not to trip on the roots that painted the forest floor. As you came to the tree it looked like ortho wasn't there but you decided to take a small look on the other side.

Your eyes flooded with tears as you saw your best freind hanging from a nuse that was hung on the tree. If only i walked him home sooner, if only i stayed longer, if only i could see his smile one last time. You cried there over his body with no sighns of life left in it.

"Goodbye Ortho ill miss you," you tried to get out as you cried below him.

now you still mourned him but have moved on in a sense. You knew that you wold see him again.
