Again came that same feeling of being watched. You were too afraid to look up at Loki to see if he was staring at you. He seemed to do that a lot, glaring at you. The feeling continued as you read. Trying hard to focus on your book was hard.
Suddenly a book slammed on the coffee table in the center of the sofas. You looked up, startled by the sudden outburst of Loki. "Why did you do that?" He demanded glaring at you harder than ever. "Do what?" You set down your book to look at him, you remained calm however. You couldn't expect anything less from the angry god of mischief and lies. "Why would you summon those baboons to get me? How did you know?" His voice harder than ever. "Well.. first off. The Avengers kind of forced me to move in with them because I used magic I didn't know I had or whatever.." You started, Loki frowned, "Magic? You're Midgardian, you don't have magic."
"Well that's what I thought too, I was driving home from the movies and I almost ran over Thor with my car, a green orb appeared and stopped Thor from getting run over." You shrugged. "Anyways, the team moved me in to the tower. Then I remember Laufey.." Your eyebrows furrowed as you explained the situation, "That was me." Loki interrupted rudely. "Yes, I'm aware of that now." You frowned. Loki got the hint and let you talk again, "I was looking for the cat while they were looking for you. You were both so similar so it was worth a try capturing you." Loki leaned back against the couch again and grabbed his book. "So I've been tricked by an Midgardian girl." he muttered to himself. You couldn't help but smirk. You really had out done him. "Show me your powers." He demanded, glancing back up to you. "What?"
"Show me your powers." He repeated. "Uh.. I don't know how to use them." You replied. "Then I don't believe you."
"You don't have to believe me."
"Then you shouldn't be lying. I can tell you're lying." He insisted.
Dang. This guy was annoying. "I'm not lying, but I'm not going to try to persuade you." You gathered your own book again in your soft hands, flipping a page.
"If you can't prove anything do not tell somebody you have magic, when you clearly do not."
You had enough of Loki. You violently grabbed the TV remote and switched on the news. The video of you was still playing from yesterday. He watched silently, his face retreated to a blank expression. "That's you?" He asked. You nodded not turning away from your book. "That's Asgardian magic, how did my idiot brother not notice it?" His voice became stern again.
What the hell is with this man? First he claims you don't have magic and that you're faking everything, next thing he's saying it's ass guard magic? What was that supposed to mean? "Ass guard?" You repeated. "Asgard." He corrected you, annoyance in his voice. "So? Do I have powers or not?" You shot him a glare over your book like he had done. He stiffened, knowing he had been wrong. "You do. I don't know how." He answered dryly.
You were done hearing the TV, you swished your hand in front of it like how you did at home after the accident. The sound shut off immediately. You returned to your book for the 3rd time in 2 minutes. Loki stared at the television then your hand silently questioning it.
He too, went back to his book after a few minutes. He didn't say anything for the rest of the time you were together.

"We're back kid!" Tony shouted as he waltzed into the room. "Welcome back, did everything go alright?" You sat up, grinning. "Mr. Hawkeye over here got grazed but he's fine." Stark announced, pointing towards Nat helping Clint slightly towards the elevator. Tony saw the worried face you put on, "He'll be fine kid. How was reindeer games?"
"He's been good." You shot him a smirk, "Told you cap! Nothing to worry about." Tony bragged as Steve and Bucky passed by, "Whatever Stark." Cap rolled his eyes and vanished into another corridor with Bucky at his side. Thor walked in next.
"Lady Y/N! We have returned. I hope my brother hadn't caused any trouble while I was away."
A small laugh escaped your mouth, "He behaved perfectly Thor. No need to fret."
"Good! I was afraid he would say something stupid." Loki rolled his eyes behind his book.
"Nope, he just sat and read the whole time." You lied. You ain't no snitch.
"Good." Thor bowed and departed the room.
You turned to Tony, as Pepper returned to his side. "I'm going to my room."
"Sounds good, we'll call you for dinner time." Stark suggested as you swiftly upped yourself from the couch. "Thanks."
*
Dinner was the same. You ate your plate of food as you listened in on conversations. Loki stayed quiet as well. Thankfully you made no awkward eye contact this time, however you did catch him looking at you sometimes whenever you glanced up.
*
Everybody bid you goodnight as they left for the elevator to get to their rooms. Loki was sat on his usual spot on the couch. You took your seat on the opposite end again. You each read your books in silence, using the little light from the city to see the words. You expected Loki to leave but he didn't. You got tired fast though.
You got up and put your book down on the table. You had been reading 'The Great Gatsby' and was already half through. You looked over at Loki, "Goodnight."
"Night." He returned back to you. You were surprised but your face remained blank.
*
You returned to your room. You took a quick shower and got yourself ready for the night. You climbed into the large pool of blankets and pillows that was your bed. Pulling up the covers to your chin you dozed asleep, ready for the next day ahead of you.

Loki's POV
~I watched as she left the room. What was her name again? Y/N? That was it. She claimed she had powers which she even showed to me on the moving screen. That had definitely been Asgardian magic. She was Midgardian though was she not? Perhaps one of her parents weren't faithful to the other? Or one of them was actually from a whole different realm. I closed my book I'd been reading. I couldn't use my magic because of the clunky metal restraints attached to my wrists.
I lifted myself up off where I sat. I sighed as I made the journey from the cushioned seat to the elevator. If only I could teleport I would not need to use such Midgardian inventions. I pressed a button that was marked with the numbers 89. The doors opened a brief moment later. My feet seemed to walk themselves through the long hallway. I heard a small humming come from behind a door. Y/N's door. She had been humming to a tune I remembered hearing on the streets when I was a cat. Tsk. A cat. I couldn't have been more stupider than that. I caught myself listening to the humming for awhile, until it abruptly stopped. What was I doing?
I walked away from the door quickly and made my own way to my bedroom. There wasn't much to my room at all other than a small dresser, a bathroom and a rather smaller bed than what I was used to. It beat sitting in the dungeons back at home though. I undressed myself, tugging my shirt sleeves over the restraints was annoying. I took a quick 'shower' as the Midgardians called it and found a pair of black shorts in the dresser. I pulled them on and sat down in my bed. I didn't need to sleep much when I wasn't using my powers. I only needed a quick two hours of sleep at most.
I sighed, watching out towards view of the city a large window provided. New York really was peaceful. The multiple coloured lights across the skyline fascinated me deeply. I can't believe I had been mind controlled by that titan to try to destroy it. I shuddered thinking about it. Tears were brought to my eyes suddenly. I didn't like to cry. I hated being seen as vulnerable. But I let myself cry, nobody was coming in anyways. After a good few minutes of being miserable, I wiped away the drops aggressively with my palm.
I sat there all night until I fell asleep for the last hour before the sun came up.
