"YOU ARE NOT COMING WITH ME!"
Eloise and Dimitri were standing on opposite ends of the kitchen island. Dimitri had his hands on the top of it, leaning towards his daughter, face red with frustration and anger. Eloise stared him down with her arms crossed. Meatball sat lazily in the doorway, looking between them as if he were watching a movie.
"Why the hell not?" Eloise snapped. "I am more than capable of taking care of myself."
"I know that, darling." Dimitri ran a hand over his face. "But this is different. Much different. I'm not taking any risks."
Dimitri and the rest of the Order of the Phoenix were going to Harry's house on Privet Drive to retrieve him. There was a mission involved, something Dimitri was very familiar with. Eloise wanted nothing more than to go with him and help. Harry was her friend after all. She had just as much reason to be there as anyone else.
"Take the floo powder and head to the Burrow in an hour." Dimitri instructed her. "Molly and Ginny are already there. Help them out, would you? Everyone else will be there soon."
"Will you?" Eloise asked, her tone accusatory. "If it's so dangerous then why are you going?"
"Because..." He looked at his daughter. "Because I must, darling. I'm in the Order. And... It's the right thing to do."
"If it's the right thing to do," Eloise said sarcastically. "Then why can't I come? You don't want me to do the right thing? Wow dad. Is it because I'm a Slytherin? Low blow-"
"Eloise." Her father cut her off. "Stop it. I won't hear another word of this."
He walked around the kitchen island and engulfed her in a tight hug that she returned. Dimitri rested his chin on her head and sighed.
"Too stubborn for your own good, you are." He mumbled. "Just like your mother."
"Be careful." She whispered. "Please."
"Careful? Me?" Dimitri broke the hug and held his daughter by the shoulders, flashing her a smile. "When have I ever not been careful? You on the other hand..."
He tweaked her nose playfully, making her smile. With another goodbye, he apparated with a POP. Eloise was alone in the kitchen.
Head to The Burrow in an hour...
Leave the people she cared about to deal with this incredibly dangerous mission...
"Meatball," Eloise looked over to the St. Bernard in the doorway who lifted his head. "Do you think I should head to The Burrow? Orrrr... do the right thing?"
