hayun's pov

after a tiring day, i went straight to my home, and washed up. i thought it was too boring inside the house, and my mom is at work, so i decided to go out and eat on the convenience store where i once worked for extra allowance.

i wore my usual baggy sweater and black tights. white socks and slip-on slippers, and i was ready to go.

i opened the door, and alas, my most hated person showed up right in front of me. watanabe haruto.

"oi hayun! what a nice outfit." he laughed while arranging the cup noodles on the shelf.

"shut up watanabe," i said and took one of the ramen he was holding, and payed it myself.

"you can't do that," he said.

"i just did."

i sat on the nearest seat near the door, and started eating the unhealthy ramen. i should be on a diet, but i don't care anymore.

just then, the door chimed, making me look up at the person who just enterned. i choked on the broth, and begged haruto for water.

"i have to punch this first!" he shouted.

"i'm— dying— here!!" i tried my best to respond.

then, i was handed a bottle of water, and i was finally saved.

"thank you," i sighed.

"oh. you drank everything..." i looked up and saw that jeongwoo was the one who actually handed me the water, and not haruto. it was his water, not haruto's.

did we just had an indirect kiss?!

"s-sorry about that," i muttered, and continued to eat my ramen.

"what's up jeongwoo?" haruto asked. i can't believe they're friends.

"nothing. just decided to stop by since my house is near." his house is near?! since when?!

"oh right you just moved in this neighborhood," haruto said.

then that means i can see him everyday! walk with him to school everyday because he's near my house!

"how's hyeri?" haruto asked, and i froze. i totally forgot that i'm pretending to be hyeri through text.

"i don't know she hasn't been answering to my messages."

shoot! i've been busy with school. our exams are coming up, and i don't want to fail of course! or else my mom will kick me out of our house, even if i'm her only child.

"tell me hayun, is hyeri doing fine?" jeongwoo asked, and i can feel the cold sweat slowly dripping down the sides of my forehead.

"yeah of course. she's totally fine," i answered with a smile.

"why do you look so polite when you're talking to jeongwoo?" haruto asked. i turned my face to him with a sarcastic smile.

"that's because he's kind, unlike you."

"what?" haruto asked in japanese.

"i've been kind!" he shouted.

"yeah like lying that i was never your friend in middle school was kind. how impressive watanabe." i rolled my eyes.

"i said sorry," he mumbled.

"yeah, like that actually fixed everything."

"jeongwoo. i think you should stop—" i was about to say that he should stop talking to hyeri, but i saw that he smiling while watching hyeri's videos on instagram.

"what was that hayun?" he asked with a smile.

"why are you so kind to hayun???" haruto asked.

"because she's kind."
"because i'm kind."

we said in unison, and we both laughed.

"you two are so evil," he said while eyeing on us, and i just sticked my tounge out like a child.

"it was nothing. don't mind what i said."

"anyway, i should be home by now." i stood up from my chair, and waved goodbye to jeongwoo and haruto.

i went back to my house, and my phone vibrated.
