jeongwoo's pov

ah. i seriously can't believe these cheerleaders. how could they disregard such a beautiful girl! a talented one too!

i took her to the convenience store where haruto works at, and treated her with some ramen. i don't exactly know what to do to cheer her up. how disappointing to know that the cheerleader who's been cheering everyone up all her teenage years is now sad because of her team mates.

she sobbed as she munched on the noodles in her mouth. tears were escaping her eyes, so i wiped it off for her.

"oh this scene is too cute for me to handle," haruto said while crunching his nose.

"shut up and work haruto. there are costumers around," i told him with a chuckle. he mocked me with a laugh and went on the counter.

"i don't quite get your teammates. they used to like you as the new center, but now, here they are tearing you down." i clicked my tounge in this disbelief and she shrugged her shoulders as if what i said didn't bother her.

"i'm sorry. it's just so inhuman to me."

"it's fine." she smiled and tapped my back for reassurance.

it does not look fine at all.

i looked around the convenience store, to check if there are still strangers around. when i found out that it's only us three inside, i stood up.

"i can't let you frown anymore," i said as i fixed my uniform.

"what are you doing?" hayun asked as she turned to look at me. she crossed her arms and tilted her head with a chuckle as if she's shocked to see me like this.

"dangsin-ui himeul boyojwo! dangsin-ui himeul boyojwo! dangsin-ui himeul boyojwo!!!" (translation: show me your strength. a/n: if you know. you know.)

hayun looked so confused with what i just did, and she started laughing at me. i smiled as i saw her eyes close as she laughs. at least with that simple stupid act, i made her happy.

i cleared my throat and took the water bottle from our table. "hayun-ah."

she looked up, still, with a smile on her face.

"don't cry anymore. you deserve so much better in this world."

"hayun-ah." i called her once more.

"don't worry. you can always come to me when you're sad. i will always try my best make you laugh and smile."

"because hayun-ah. i like you. and... i don't want you to be sad, alright?"

"oh my-" i turned around to see haruto who was panicking to open his phone and dial all of our friends. i smirked, and slowly looked back to hayun

"i- i like you too."

hayun's pov

he's kidding right? he's just doing this to cheer me up. there's no way someone like him likes me. jeongwoo? park jeongwoo?

and why did i confess too?! out of impulse?! out of shock?! whyyyyy?!!!

the door chimed and the person standing on the door step of the store greeted haruto. turns out it was time for them to switch since haruto's shift is done. jeongwoo is still silent after that sudden SUDDEN confession.

but he likes hyeri!! i mean he said he stopped, but this just doesn't make any sense.

i suddenly got hit lightly on the head, and when i looked up, it was jeongwoo. who was looking away instead of explaining why he just did that. he's so weird!

"your mom's probably looking for you, i'll take you home." he took my bag and went out of the convenience store first.

WHAT JUST HAPPENED.

"i'm sure that park jeongwoo will tell you everything on the way. just go," haruto said and pushed me out of the store. i can sense him smiling ear to ear as i walk out, i'm not even kidding.

"walk her home safely!" haruto shouted before we got farther from the place.

both of us were silent on the way. my head is still filled with thoughts and questions. i am so curious about how he started liking me, or if that stuff is even true.

"so!" jeongwoo started.

"how long are we going to stay quiet here?" he laughed and i did as well.

"well, what i said was true. you're the one that i actually liked and not hyeri. i was supposed to ask hyeri how to get close to you, which is actually very stupid because you're my seatmate and she's less approachable and is farther from my seat."

"and... yeah, i texted the wrong number, but i guess that's what brought us closer. so... sending the message to the wrong number didn't turn out bad for me after all."

"yeah. i guess you're right." i smiled at him and he pinched my cheeks so hard that it started to hurt. i slapped his hands and he started laughing because of my reaction.

"you do know that you confessed at such an awful day?" i asked him.

"yeah i know. but i found that moment the perfect time to tell how i feel, so i did." he clasped his hands together with a sigh.

and because of that, i found this day not so awful at all. and funny how things between us changed after one small accident.

end.
