hayun's pov

"hyeri sprained her ankle," we all turned our heads to where the entrance of the gymnasium was.

we all saw hyeri sitting on a wheel chair with her mom. turns out she was practicing the choreography last night and got her ankle sprained.

"but she's in the center!" one of her friends said.

"hayun can be the center," one of the cheer team members said. i looked to see who it was, and found out that she's one of the seniors of the cheer team. she is one of those members who takes our measurements every other month.

"she has the same height and weight as hyeri this month." what? how did that even happen? have i been starving myself?

"she's not as beautiful as hyeri!" now i'm embarrassed. i know that too well why am i even embarrassed.

"of course she's not as beautiful as hyeri. she has her own kind of beautiful. we all don't have the same beauty, remember that."

i feel the warmth in my chest after hearing what she said. i feel so comforted and loved all of a sudden.

"the only question is. are you cut out for replacing me?" hyeri asked with a smirk.

"we'll never know if i don't try."

everyone liked how i perform the moves and stunts. they even told hyeri to make me a permanent member since i wasn't always dancing or cheering before. at unfortunate events, i stand still in front of the bench with my cheerleading poms while trying to look happy.

i thanked everyone for the overwhelming support of course. it was the first time that i actually felt happy and contented as a cheerleader.

i am now walking to my house, finally. my legs feel so sore because of that practice.

as the wind rushes through my face. a flying poster caught my attention. it landed right in front of me and saw that it was about a contest around our neighborhood.

wait.

shoot.

what time is it?!

i checked the poster to know when it will start. turns out i'm already an hour late. i gripped my duffel bag tightly and started running towards the nearest stadium.

jeongwoo's pov

"still no signs of hayun?" i asked haruto and he shook his head as an answer.

i nodded with a sigh. the sun is still up and it's already 5 PM and we're the next contestant to perform. hayun is still not here, so it looks like my plan isn't going to work at all.

the stadium is not filled with people. there are only a few who stood in front of the stage while waiting for more bands to perform that is why i could clearly see if someone's coming in the venue. the doors were widely opened to welcome more music lovers.
