Chapter 43. Pay back Part 1

My heart almost jumped out of my chest when I heard Alexei say, "Will you marry me, Zachariel Joseph?" I stared in disbelief at Alexei. I had never thought that he would ask me to marry him this early in our relationship. The engagement rings were beautiful. I was the one who always chased after Andrew. So it felt great to get proposed to for once. We halted our celebrations when Leonardo arrived. I couldn't believe that Leonardo was interested in Cash. I had seen pictures of him with countless women before. I thought that he was straight. Alexei frowned at Leonardo after Cash left, then said, "Stop pursuing Cash if you're only doing it for fun, Leonardo. He's dangerous. He will make you disappear if you bother him too much." Leonardo burst out laughing, then uttered, "I have been after him since he saved me at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Alexei. You know what I'm talking about, right? You were also at the clinic with Cash." Alexei chuckled, then responded to Leonardo with, "You were the doctor who almost got crushed by a sterilizer machine, Leonardo?" Leonardo nodded, then stated, "Yeah, the idiot who bumped into the machine got fired afterward. I will never forget the day that strong and handsome man saved me."

I shook my head, then uttered, "Life is not a fairy-tale, Leonardo. You should talk to Cash about your feelings before he thinks that you are teasing him." Leonardo nodded, then said, "I'll talk to him soon, Zachariel. Now let me check your heart rate." Leonardo left after having dinner with us. I brushed my teeth, then went to bed. Alexei was awake when I woke in the morning. I looked at the clock, then asked Alexei, "Why are you up so early, Alexei?" Alexei frowned, then uttered, "Your phone has been ringing non-stop, Zachariel. Are you planning to see Andrew tonight?" I yawned, then responded to Alexei with, "Yes, Alexei. The sooner I get rid of Andrew, the better." Alexei grabbed my face, then asked me, "Are you going alone, Zachariel?" I smirked at Alexei, then answered him with, "No, Alexei. I'm taking a cavalry with me." I got out of bed, then grabbed my laptop. I opened the file with the title "Just die" then handed my laptop to Alexei. I placed a kiss on Alexei's cheek, then uttered, "I'm going to take a shower, Alexei. Carefully examine the documents. I won't be able to succeed without your help. I hope that Andrew suffers the same painful fate that I did after my mission is complete."

I knew that Alexei wouldn't have a problem understanding what I wanted to achieve. Alexei pulled me into his arms the moment I walked out of the bathroom. He hugged me tightly, then uttered, "I'll make sure that nothing goes wrong tonight, Zachariel. Promise me that you won't let that jerk's remarks bother you." I stroked Alexei's back, then responded to him with, "Andrew's words won't hurt me anymore, Alexei. I stopped seeing him as a person the moment he betrayed me." Alexei placed a kiss on my cheek, then uttered, "Check your phone, Zachariel. He sent you a message." I grabbed my phone to check the message that Andrew had sent me. I smirked when I read that Andrew was already on a plane to Los Angeles. I was in a good mood suddenly. I got dressed then went to check on the kids. I was surprised when I saw that the children were awake. The children jumped off their beds when they saw me. I greeted the kids then took a seat on the sofa. Genevieve climbed into my lap, then asked me, "When will Madeline start working here, papa?" I fixed Genevieve's hair, then answered her with, "Madeline will start working here after you guys turn three, baby girl." Jacques leaned against me, then uttered, "I can't wait to start learning new things, papa. The worksheets that you gave us were always fun."

Dominique took a seat on the hand rest, then said, "I hope that she won't punish me when I do something naughty, papa." I pinched Dominique's cheek, then responded to him with, "She has the right to punish you guys if you don't listen to her, Dominique. It will be just like you guys are at school." Genevieve gasped suddenly, then said, "What a pretty ring, papa. Did daddy give it to you?" I smiled, then answered Genevieve with, "Yes, Genevieve. Your daddy and I are engaged now." Jacques grabbed my arm, then yelled, "I'm so happy, papa!" I chuckled when I heard Dominique say, "Grandpa said that daddy would ask you to marry him soon, papa. And it looks like grandpa was right." I smiled when I heard Jacques breathe softly. Dominique giggled, then stated, "Jacques has fallen asleep again, papa." I threw my arm around Jacques, then said, "It's still early. You guys should go back to bed." Genevieve buried her face in my chest then uttered, "Can you tell us a story, papa?" Genevieve and Dominique fell asleep while listening to the story. Bertha and Ocean helped me put the kids to bed. I went back to my room after the children had fallen asleep. Alexei left a note on my pillow stating that he went to the gym.
