Chapter 47. Nathaniel Cambell Part 1

I had a feeling that the kids had taught the bird the song. I sighed then uttered while looking at Mia, "Well, at least someone is happy today." My father looked at Amelia, then said, "Triton is now on his way back to Los Angeles with Eric Cambell, his family, and the boy, Alexei. Amelia and I did a background check on Eric before contacting Triton. Besides being greedy, Eric is a great man. The man and his family have been treating the child well. I feel like I'm making a mistake by taking the child from them. We didn't know that the child was our kin until now. So we don't know how to handle the situation. We feel lost and hope that you guys can give us some advice."

I gazed at the triplets, then asked my father, "What is Gabrielle planning to do about this situation, dad?" My father sighed, then answered me with, "Gabrielle said that she was going to take the child away from her uncle. She vowed to send him to jail for deceiving her. She is planning to hire a live-in nanny to take care of the child." Amelia shook her head, then uttered, "It seems like Gabrielle was born without maternal instinct. She has no feelings for the child. My heart breaks when I think of Nathaniel." Zachariel grabbed Amelia's hand, then said, "Don't worry, Amelia. I have a feeling that Gabrielle won't hesitate to give the custody of the child to Briac and Chance." My father frowned, then asked Zachariel, "Do you know something that we don't, Zachariel?" I scowled when I heard Zachariel say, "Yes, Alexandre. I discovered some interesting things about Gabrielle while I was investigating her. I got obsessed with her after Amelia told me that Alexei dated her the longest. I'll give you the file before you leave."

I sighed, then uttered, "We should determine what's in the child's best interest before taking the next step, dad. What if the child doesn't want to leave the family?" Amelia put her head down, then answered me with, "We are willing to make some arrangements with Eric if Gabrielle gives Briac the custody of the child, Alexei." Zachariel put his hand on my shoulder, then said, "Every child wants to live with their own family, Alexei. Don't be so quick to judge Nathaniel. He may surprise you." My father quickly answered his phone when it rang. He smiled when he heard that the private jet had already landed. He put his phone away, then uttered, "Your house is the closest to the airport, Alexei. Can Triton bring them here for the time being?" I groaned, then responded to my father with, "Yes, but tell Triton to use the guesthouse. And ask Briac to behave while he is here. I'll throw him out if he blames me for his misfortunes."

Amelia chuckled, then said, "Briac is sorry about the way he handled things last night, Alexei. He will apologize to you properly when he comes. Thank you for helping us find the boy." I winked at Zachariel, then responded to Amelia with, "It was my pleasure, Amelia." My father walked into the house to contact Gabrielle, Briac, and Chance. I gazed at Zachariel while he played with the kids. I chuckled when I heard Amelia say, "I bet that the child will get confused about who his real father is after he sees you, Alexei." I ran my fingers through my hair, then responded to Amelia with, "It seems like dad has strong genes. Most of his grandchildren resemble him." Amelia sighed, then stated, "Gabrielle was a fool to undergo home insemination. You wouldn't want to marry her even if she got pregnant with your child. I was surprised when she said that she bought the sperm online. I hope that you took action against the clinic, Alexei."

I smirked at Amelia, then stated, "I donated the money that I won in the settlement to primary schools in Mississippi. The clinic will go bankrupt if Briac also sues them." Amelia shook her head, then uttered, "Briac has other things on his mind at the moment, Alexei. I hope that everything will go well today." My father grabbed Amelia's hand when he returned, then uttered, "Everyone has arrived, Alexei. Please join us too." I hadn't planned to meddle, so I was surprised by my father's request. Zachariel approached me when he saw me hesitate. He put his hand on my shoulder, then said, "You should go, Alexei. Briac needs all the support he can get right now." I groaned while getting up. Zachariel ran into the house to grab the file that he had put together regarding Gabrielle. He handed the file to my father, then said, "Good luck, Alexandre."

I placed a kiss on Zachariel's cheek, then stated, "I'll be right back, Zachariel." Zachariel nodded, then yelled, "Your daddy is leaving with your grandparents for a moment, kids!" The kids waved at us, then shouted, "See you soon, daddy, grandpa, and grandma!" I waved back at the kids, then followed my father and Amelia. Briac and Chance were waiting for us at the entrance of the guesthouse. Briac looked nervous. I walked past him, then said, "Let's get this show on the road, men." A child crashed into me the moment I walked into the house. The child hugged my leg, then yelled, "I have been waiting to see you, daddy!" I looked in astonishment at the child. A cold shiver ran down my spine when I realized that the child was a carbon copy of me.

Gabrielle is from the name Gabriel. Gabriel and Nathaniel are both angel names.
