soobin's pov ~
i rolled over in the bed i was sleeping in multiple times. for some reason, i just couldn't fall asleep no matter how hard i tried.

i looked at my phone to check the time. and of course, it's two am. i fucking hate when this happens. every single time i try to sleep, i'm never able to. this is why i'm exhausted all the time.

i sighed as i left the room to get a cup of water but immediately came across taehyun, who was standing right in front of me.

"why are you up this late?" i whispered. he rolled his eyes.

"child, you're up this late as well."

"well i asked you first so tell me your reason."

"i just woke up to grab a cup of water, nothing special."

"that's so weird. i woke up for the same exact reason as you."

"you're just copying me," he walked down the stairs and i walked after him.

"no! that's not true! i came for a cup of water!"

"haha, sure."

"sometimes i wanna choke you." i joked around as he chuckled.

"i'm kidding bitch. here." he handed me a cup and grabbed one for himself as well.

"i know. thanks."

we stood in the kitchen drinking water in silence until one of us began the conversation again.

"so...what did you guys talk about?" he asked.

"what do you mean?"

"you know what i mean."

"oh with aeri? we were just talking about her life and stuff i guess."

"soobin, i know you two were talking about me. you don't have to hide it. i just wanna know what you guys said, that's all." i stopped for a minute, and then continued.

"okay well...she was just annoyed because she thought that you were being rude but i told her that you're trying you're best. i mean, you can't really do much about her situation. and then she started going on about how she's jealous that i have a friend and stuff and then something about pity."

"you're so fucking terrible at explaining stuff."

"i know i'm sorry okay. i really don't know what the fuck she was talking about. but it wasn't that big of a deal i guess." i shrugged as i took another sip of my water.

"...are you guys friends?"

"i don't know about that either. i told her we can be friends but she just said she doesn't want my pity and ignored me. i don't know what the hell her problem is honestly."

"haha. that's funny. we both kinda dislike each other but are both jealous."

"you're jealous? of what?"

"ugh, you're so fucking oblivious soobin." he put his cup in the sink and left upstairs. i did the same thing and followed him again.

"what the hell are you talking about? tell me." he kept ignoring me so i kept following him, until we were both in his bedroom. i held his hand to stop him. "tell me."

he sighed as he let go of my hand.

"she's a girl." his voice was very quiet but i still heard him.

"are you kidding me?! why is that a problem?!"

"because, you idiot! it's obvious that she's one of those girls that your parents told you to date! you think i don't know that?!"

"i still don't know what you're trying to say."

"see?! this is the exact reason why i didn't want to tell you!" he looked away from my eyes, avoiding eye contact as much as he could. i stared at him for a moment, not knowing what to say.

"taehyun...do you...do you lik—"

"guys, why are you up this late?" we both turned around to see aeri standing by the door. "i heard you from the living room, you guys are kinda loud. whoa, are you guys alright? you look like a wolf just attacked you. why are you staring at me like that?"

"whatever, we're talking about this later," i said to taehyun as i pushed him out of my way and left to go to my room. i slammed the door behind me.

whatever he's not telling me is a problem. because any small thing he could say, would definitely take our relationship to the next level.

i just need him to say it.

taehyun's pov ~
after what just happened, aeri and i stood in my room in silence.

"what's up with him? did something happen?" she asked as we both sat on my bed together.

"he's just mad that i'm not telling him something."

"do you mind if i ask you what you're not telling him?" i was about to say yes but i took a moment to think about it.

"you know, you genuinely seem like a nice person. but as soon as i saw you, i judged you because of your gender. and the reason is because i got kinda jealous of you and soobin. especially because i know about his parents forcing him to date girls. i didn't know if you guys were friends or...maybe something more? and i...i kinda li—"

"you like soobin?" she stared at me as she smiled. "listen, you don't need to worry about me at all. i don't like guys."

"you're—"

"yes, i'm a lesbian. i told soobin that already. plus," she leaned in and whispered in my ear to make sure nobody heard her. "he told me he kinda likes you too."

she still had a smile on her face as she watched my face turn bright red.

"w-what? he likes me?"

"yep. i think he knows you like him too but...i'm pretty sure the reason why he kept telling you to tell him is because he wants to hear you say it." she looked at me for a moment and then got up from the bed. "well, i'm going to go back to bed now. why don't you go talk to him about this? he's definitely still awake. but don't have sex while i'm sleeping, i'll hear it you know."

"s-shut up! we aren't going to do t-that." she giggled as she left the room.
