Difficult Times (Jemily)

(Trigger warning: overdosing)
Emily's POV:

I wake up at 7:00 with my alarm going off in my ear. JJ's still asleep next to me. Me and her have to get ready for work.

I move out of the bed and start getting ready. When I'm finished with getting dressed I start the coffee machine. I might as well have coffee ready for when I wake up JJ.

I wake back into the room to wake her up. "Hey JJ, you need to get ready. We have work in 40"

"I can't go today. You go. You can't miss anymore work because of me. I'll be fine here"

I sigh but I leave her be. I wish I understood how she felt. She's right about me not missing anymore work though. They might fire me soon because they just got me back.

I finish getting ready and I talk to JJ before I go. "JJ I'm going to work. If you need anything please don't hesitate to call me, okay?"

"Okay I will. Have a good day"

I grab the keys and head to work. I hope it's just paperwork today I can't leave her alone, especially right now.

I see Hotch in his office on the phone, Morgan and Reid are sitting at their desks, and Garcia is at the coffee machine. I don't see Rossi but he's probably in his office.

I walk over to my desk and start on my reports. Half a hour later Hotch walks out, "We have a case, meet in the conference room in 5"

Damn it.

I get up and walk over to the conference room. Please let this case be here. Hotch walks in shortly after we all take our seats.

"Garcia, present" Hotch says.

"Okay loves we have a case in New York. 3 women and 1 man were found shot execution style in their cars, over the past week. Corner said they didn't find anything in their system and the kills were all over the city" Garcia says.

"Do we think these kills were random?" Derek asks.

"It looks to be random. Everyone was of different backgrounds, different social hierarchies" Reid states.

"Alright. Wheels up in 20" Hotch says.

We all walk out of the room. I grab my go-bag and find Garcia who's sitting in her office.

"Hey Garcia I really hate to ask this but, do you think you could check up on JJ later. I wish I could stay here but they do need me"

"Of course I can" she says.

"Thank you so much. Let me know how she is"

I walk out of the building and make my way to the jet. I give JJ a call telling her we have a case. But it goes to voicemail.

"Hey JJ. We have a case in New York and they need me. Garcia will be stopping by later. I'll call you later. I love you. Remember, please don't hesitate to call if you need anything. I will drive this plane myself if I don't hear from you"

I board the jet with everyone else and we take our normal spots. JJ's seat is empty. I sigh while looking at it. Derek notices and walks over to me.

"Hey Emily, where's Jj?"

"She wasn't feeling to great so she's at home"

"Tell her I wish her my best and that I hope she feels better soon"

I whisper under my breath "it's not that kind of sick" but he heard me.

"What do you mean not that kind of sick?" He asks quietly.
