sarai knew that hubert only posted that photo because he was trying to send a message. for months hubert never had a reason to feel threatened till last week when sarai and vinnie rekindled their relationship. he knew that he had nothing to worry about that sarai was a loyal girlfriend but he had a bad feeling vinnie had ulterior motives. sarai felt like she was untrusted by her own boyfriend. she was taken away from her thoughts with an incoming facetime call.
incoming FaceTime from "vinnie hacker"
sarai picked up the call, knowing hub wouldn't be happy she did when he was in the other room.
"hey vinnie"
"hey, what you up to?"
"nothing much, just chilling at home with hub"
"ohh, where's he at?"
"he went to my room, he is on the phone with his team"
"ahh i see"
"what did you wanna talk about?"
"what i need a reason to call my friend?"
"oh know i didn't mean it that way"
"chill, i'm playing. just wanted to see if you were busy and now i know you are i'll leave you be"
"i am not exactly what you call busy, literally sat on my couch watching movies. do you need my help for something?"
"just wanted to see if you wanna come over to hype to hang but your with hub, i don't wanna make you leave your date"
before sarai could notice, a tall figure sat beside her placing his lips on her shoulder giving her a small peck, "who's on the phone love?" hub asked taking a peek.
"it's vinnie"
"hey"
"oh right of course, i will leave you two"
sarai could tell that hub was mad, she sighed and vinnie was sitting on the other line in silence while sarai leaves her phone to go make amends with hubert.
"babe, come on don't be like that he's just calling to see if we wanted to hang out"
"yeah sure, and let me guess you were planning on going??"
"i don't see what is the problem?"
the couple was not aware that vinnie was still listening on the other end.
"of course you don't! you are so naive and of course you can't see that vinnie is just trying to get in your pants again!"
"babe, he's not trust me. he and i are just friends and i love you"
hub scoffs and gets his keys from the kitchen counter, sarai tried to plead with him. "do you not trust me hub? honestly answer me, do you not trust that i can hang out with vinnie and that nothing will happen between us?"
"you want an honest answer, fine. no i can't sarai, because if i remember correctly you were the one who told me when we were just friends talking, that before vinnie ghosted you. you had feelings for him and he sure as hell has feelings for you" hub angrily retorts and sarai was left in tears and he slammed the door as he left.
sarai cried as she bends down and leans on her front door. how could he be so angry about this she thought. she told him many times that vinnie didn't mean anything to her anymore, that she had feelings for him and not vinnie. sarai heard a faint voice come from the living room, she gets up and walks over to the couch. she sees that vinnie is still on the other line and she wipes her tears and puts on a brave face on for vinnie to try cover up what had just unraveled.
"sarai, are you ok?"
"how much did you hear?"
"all of it"
"great, you probably think he's a bad boyfriend. he's not he really is a good boyfriend he just ever since we became friends again and hung out the other week - he just i don't know became so insecure whenever you were mentioned"
"you don't have to explain yourself, i just want to know if you are ok and if you need a friend right now"
"honestly i am not. i could really use a friend right now. all the girls are out with their boyfriends"
"i'll be over in 10 minutes"
"really?"
"really"
"thank you vinnie"
"always"
the call ends and sarai curls in a ball on her couch sobbing with what had just happened.
