The Sanctuary was quiet. Oddly quiet for mid-morning. Perhaps it was because the others were still sleeping?

I opened my eyes to be met with a dim morning light pouring through the glass windows. Slipping from the warm embrace of my covers, I sat up and stretched my arms above my head. I got up from bed, stumbling back a bit as a wave of dizziness hit my vision.

I shook it off and walked to the bathroom. After brushing my teeth, I cupped my hands under the faucet and splashed my face with the cold water, trying to wake myself up more.

Wiping the towel along my face, I noticed a cut on my cheek. I lightly touched it with my phalanges and winced. It still stung.

I began to recall last night and what had happened. Ink, Blue, and I fought off Nightmare and Cross. I remembered shooting Nightmare in the shoulder, only to dodge Cross's incoming knife.

He had cut me like it was nothing.

I shook my head, trying to get the negative thoughts out of my mind.

I finished in the bathroom and got changed for the day. Placing my gold circlet on my head, I walked down the spiraling staircases to the kitchen. My stomach ached as I smelled the air; it smelled like someone was cooking breakfast burritos.

I walked into the kitchen and saw Blue at the stove, indeed cooking breakfast. Ink sat at the island on a stool, her feet swinging happily as she watched, eagerly awaiting breakfast.

The scene brought a pleasant smile to my face, and I sat next to Ink. She looked over when I sat down and gave me a smile. "G'morning Dream, how'd you sleep?" she asked.

"I slept well, thank you," I replied. "How about you?"

"Eh, fine as always," she said nonchalantly. "But that's good to hear. I have a feeling Error's gonna attack again today. Not sure when, but I have a gut feeling he will."

"You don't even have a gut, you numbskull," Blue said, placing a plate with a burrito in front of Ink and I.

"That's the joke, Blue," I said, looking down at my plate. I felt to tired to eat, but I knew that I probably should...

Blue rolled her eyes and returned to work. Ink let out a little laugh and dived right into the breakfast.

Ink's prediction was right after all.

"Hey guys, I just got a message. Error's in a new AU, he seems to be trying to destroy it," she said.

Blue and I looked up from our card game and sighed. I got up and summoned my staff to my gloved hand, nodding that I was ready. Ink and I turned to Blue to see her arms crossed over her stomach.

"I-I think I'll stay behind for this one. I'm not feeling great today," she said shakily. I looked at her with concern, but Ink only stared blankly.

"Alright. Be safe Blue, we'll be back soon," she said before grabbing my forearm and teleporting us out of the Sanctuary.

Ink and I arrived.

"Ink what about Blue, we can't just leave her alone like th...that..."

A light gasp escaped my mouth as my eyes fell upon the wreckage.

The few things that had been designed and made by the creator were decimated. Rubble littered the gardens and walkways. What seemed to be a crate yard was littered with splinters of wood and food items. We seemed to be too late.

"Damn it. We were to late..." Ink muttered, clenching her fists and looking around.

I looked at her, then to the mess. Ink looked at me and raised a brow. "Can you sense any negativity here?" she asked plainly. I nodded slowly.

I opened my mouth to say something but instead let out a yell. "INK WATCH OUT!"

Ink whipped around, pulling out her paintbrush and slashing it at a barrage of bright blue strings. I grabbed my staff and hid behind a boulder for protection, glancing over to see our attacker.

Error stood atop a broken watch tower, a few strings about his sandaled feet. His arm shot into the air, sending a row of red bones from the ground at Ink, which she dodged easily. Ink charged at Error, and I receded behind the rock, trying to think of what to do.

I didn't know much about Error, not even about his attack patterns. I wasn't used to fighting him, and I knew I was outmatched against his immense strength. I jerked my staff down and it transformed into an elegant gold-lined wooden bow.

I shifted from behind the rock, my knee bent on the ground, the other up, aimed at Error's shoulder, and shot. The light arrow whizzed past his face; his attention divided from Ink to me now.

Our eyes met and we held the stare for only a moment. He frowned and looked away, only just in time to see Ink slash her paint and cover Error in it. The red paint melted into chains, keeping Error from moving.

He glared at us each in turn and then teleported away without a word.

Ink came over to me and sat down against some rubble. "It's about time you joined the fight...geez..." she said, coughing into her arm. I knelt beside her and healed her cuts and wounds.

No major injuries.

Why was that?

When we came back, Blue didn't seem to have moved since we left her. She held one of my shirts in her lap and was attempting to sew the rips in it. One of Ink's pants was folded neatly next to her, already sewn up.

"Oh, hey guys, didn't think you'd be back so soon," Blue said, giving both of us a smile. "How'd it go?"

"It went as usual," Ink answered. "We got there a bit to late, but Dream did a great job at helping!" Blue looked to me, and I gave her a small smile.

"Well, I guess that's something," Blue said with a grin. "Hey also, Ink I repaired your favorite pants. I felt bad for not being able to come along so I..."

The other two faded into background noise as I sat on a chair, my head pounding. All these attacks were draining, being around so much negativity and then not being able to sleep it off...

I knew Ink and Error didn't get along, but they were acquaintances off the battlefield. I just don't understand the point of all the destruction.

I was getting tired. I needed to sleep.
