The next day was the day of all days. It was party time! Though Dream...wasn't sure about it at all.

About mid-morning she decided to start getting ready; after all, it's important to be prepared. She slipped on her pale-yellow gown, white gloves, flats, and her circlet for good measure. She twirled around in the mirror a few times, unable to keep down the silly, girlish giggle that escaped her.

After fixing a few things, she went downstairs, hoping to see Ink and Blue in their own dresses. And indeed, when she got there, she saw them all dressed up and ready to go, sitting and chatting on the couch.

Ink and Dream had the mutual idea to go sleeveless on their dresses; however, the guardian's was long and went to her ankles, while Ink's only went to her knees. It looked nice nonetheless, and the monochrome of the design went well with her otherwise colorful appearance.

Blue's looked undoubtably the most comfortable. Low neckline with long bell sleeves, the length of the pale blue dress went down to her knees, the waistline gathered just under her bosom. Heels accompanied both the girls' dresses and had Dream feeling and looking smaller than she already was in comparison.

"And you're seriously going to wear the bandana to a party?" Ink asked, disbelief written on her face.

"Of course! It's comfy and I like it and-" Blue turned to see Dream standing in the doorway. "And Dream's wearing her crown thingy! So it's fine if I wear my bandana!"

The other two let out a sigh, deciding not to pursue the argument further. "Well, you both look wonderful," Dream commented, smiling warmly as she sat in a chair near them. "When do we head out for this party anyways?"

"We've got a few hours, I think. We can watch a movie while we wait, I guess," Ink suggested, crossing her legs and leaning back into the couch leisurely.

"Sounds good to me!" Blue said, getting up and grabbing the remote for the TV nearby.

Dream could hear the music floating from the open windows of the mansion before her. She tugged her coat around her tightly, the cold of night getting to her more than she'd like. Ink and Blue followed through the portal behind them, and the three began their walk to the front doors of the party.

Ink pulled out her phone, checked something, then put it back. "Nightmare and the others are gonna be a bit late," she said, a bit of salt in her tone. "Said they had to finish getting ready and whatever."

"Seriously?" Blue asked, a bit amused. "And people say girls take longer to get ready!"

"Well maybe they got a late start," Dream put in. "I doubt any of them have been to a social event in their life anyway." (She knew she was right at this statement).

"Hah, true." Ink laughed a bit, though quickly stopped when the three arrived at the door.

A teenager, no older than fourteen or so, was on a bench nearby, looking up every time someone entered or exited the building. Their pants were black, their sweater a deep blue with yellow and white gradient, and their hair a short brown mess. When Ink walked up to them, they looked up, a toothy grin forming on their darker skin and freckled face.
