Chapter 56. What if.....? Part 4

My father brought some family members over to introduce them to Zachariel. Zachariel smiled at them, then greeted them politely. He joined the kids on the dance floor when Chance called out to me. The kids laughed when Zachariel started making strange moves to entertain them. Chance wanted to talk to me about his holiday. He was going on a honeymoon and was planning to return later than I expected. I sighed while looking at Chance. I couldn't ask him to cut his honeymoon short. I frowned when Leonardo and Cash showed up. They should have been there since that morning. Both men were off duty. I shook my head when I noticed a hickey on Cash's neck. Leonardo grinned, then uttered, "I'm sorry for arriving so late, Chance. I got called in to perform surgery last night. I was at the hospital for hours. Cash and I decided to catch up on some things this morning. This guy has quite a stamina, you know." Cash groaned, then asked Leonardo, "Aren't you ashamed of yourself, Leonardo? How can you so casually share the details of your love life with others?"

Leonardo looked puzzled at Cash, then asked him, "Aren't we all having sex with our partners, Cash? There is no point in feeling ashamed, Boo." I sighed then stated, "You are just like Dominique, Leonardo. He never thinks before he speaks." Leonardo huffed, then yelled, "I can't believe that you just compared me to your three-year-old child, Alexei." I decided to tell Leonardo about the incident. Leonardo sighed, then asked me, "Have you asked Patrizio how he is feeling right now, Alexei? He might be feeling shitty but is hiding it because he doesn't want to alarm anyone. I wish that we could make Madeline disappear. She shouldn't be around Patrizio." I frowned, then asked Leonardo, "What are you talking about, Leonardo?" Leonardo gazed at Zachariel, then answered me with, "Madeline was in the same orphanage as Patrizio, Alexei. Patrizio helped her out when he was there. She now has an unhealthy obsession with him. Didn't Patrizio tell you about it?"

I rubbed my face in frustration. I lost my mind when I saw Madeline looking lovingly at Zachariel. I didn't know how I had missed it. Jacques hugged Zachariel's leg, then asked for something. Zachariel stroked his head, then walked in the direction of the bar. I stood up when I saw Madeline follow him. I frowned, then said to Leonardo, "Zachariel wanted to tell me something for a while now, Leonardo, but I was too busy to listen to him. I'm the only one who never has time for my lover. I will correct my mistakes today. Come back on time, Chance. I need to be with, Zachariel. I can't do that if I'm busy. Madeline will pay for hurting Zachariel."

I walked in anger to the bar. I scowled when I couldn't spot Zachariel and Madeline anywhere. I suddenly heard Zachariel yell, "Shut up, Becky! Madeline and Zachariel were in a heated discussion behind a tree. I quickly walked towards them to see why they were quarreling. I halted my steps when Zachariel slapped Madeline. Zachariel grabbed Madeline's face, then declared, "I loved you like a sister, Becky. Instead of continuing where we left off when we met again, you chose to be my enemy. I tolerated you because of the kids, but I can't take it anymore. It's my last warning to you, Becky. I have a dark side. There will be nothing left of you if you anger me again. And call Rick off, or he will end up dead somewhere too." I got startled when I heard Genevieve yell, "Why are you hurting Madeline, Papa? She is a nice girl." I hadn't noticed that the kids had followed me. The children started crying when Madeline gasped for air.

Zachariel pushed Madeline aside, then walked up to the kids. Jacques took a step back when Zachariel tried to stroke his head. Zachariel had a pained look on his face. Zachariel smiled at Jacques, then asked him, "Aren't you thirsty anymore, Jacques?" Jacques shook his head, then uttered, "No." I grabbed Zachariel's hand, then said to him, "They are in shock right now, Zachariel. Give them some time to calm down." I looked in shock at Zachariel when I heard him say, "Madeline ruined everything, Alexei. I need to be alone for some time. I'll contact you when I feel better." I pulled Zachariel into my arms, then said, "You don't have to leave, Zachariel. Let's go to the beach house so you can relax." Zachariel pushed me away then responded to me with, "The kids don't want to be around me, Alexei. I don't think that I can handle their rejection. I'll see you soon, okay." I clutched my chest while gazing at Zachariel. Zachariel walked away without saying goodbye to the kids. Giovanni and Caterina tried to stop Zachariel, but he ignored them.

Dante grabbed Zachariel's arm, then dragged him into the house. The kids had never seen Zachariel act violently before. They were too young to understand what was going on. I glared at Madeline, then said to her, "Pack your bags and leave before I return home with the kids. And you better hope that nothing happens to my lover. You can't imagine how cruel I can get." The kids wanted to run towards Madeline, but I stopped them. Cash helped Ocean and me carry the kids to the car. I frowned when I saw Caterina and Giovanni leave with Zachariel. Something popped into my mind suddenly. I grabbed my phone, then dialed Triton's number. Triton instantly picked up his phone. I said to Triton before he could greet me, "Find out where Rick Davis, the director of the St. Joseph's orphanage, is right now, Triton. I think that he is after my lover. Kill him before he can harm Zachariel."
