MIA FAYE

The defeated look on his face was a clear indication that he was fed up of my not so appreciative whines. He let out a grunt before tossing his unlocked phone into my lap. A shameless grin winded my face and I shrugged a shoulder to show my excitement as I went through the pictures that we took earlier before.

The tight black dress hugged my body, the soft feeling of satin enveloping my skin. It ended mid thigh and my hair was drawn back in a high ponytail with few wavy strands carving my face. I paired the dress with minimalistic golden jewelries and my lips tainted a deep hue of red. It was another momentum facet of outside life.

There were several pictures of each one of us. I bit back a smile, my fingers brushing across the screen where Zeke and Riven were trying to hold me back from punching Kai. There, he stood in the middle with crossed arms and a bored expression. My fist was in the air, inches away from his nose. I swiped some more before settling on one image and it somehow held my heart.

My eyes glimmered under the soft blueish light from the phone, blinking once or twice in between. Piercing stare set onto each other, his hand was rounded around my waist and mine, on his broad shoulder. His finger filled with silver rings were reaching out to tuck the few strands of hair behind my ear. It wasn't quite open to other eyes but you'd look closer, the faint smiles playing on both of our faces were somehow apparent.

"I like this one." He flitted me a quick glance down my body before he shook his head, disoriented whispers tumbling under his breath and shifted his focus back to the road.

Tight black pants folded perfectly around his legs and his plain white shirt was tucked neatly inside his pants with the top few buttons purposely left undone, accentuating his tattooed chiseled chest. He'd even changed his usual earings, considering these ones were of dim silver color.

"It's pretty obvious because I'm in it." I grinned, flicking my hair in a dramatic swirl.

"I never said otherwise."

With an eye motion, he instructed me to connect his phone to the speakers to which I did and handed the phone over to him. He furrowed his brows for a spit second before rolling his eyes at my silence and grabbing the phone from my hand. He flicked through his playlist, eventually settling for one, to be precise my favorite and his hated one. The bass began to lower down, following the soft rhythm.

"I thought you hated slow music." I arched a brow.

He flicked a glance. "I do."

I leaned back, letting out a light chuckle at the irritation in his voice. His side profile was an epitome of perfect sculpture and his jaw was shaven with no visible stubble from yesterday. His words repeated in my mind and just like that, a smile crept onto my face.
