Huening Kai is walking on his way to the bus stop. His father texted him earlier to get back from the convenience store to the therapy center hurry because he needs some help.
Kai's father works at the therapy center. It's the weekend and he decided to hang out at his father's workplace, maybe helps a little. After all, it's not like he got a friend to hang out with. Their family just moved into the town last week. His old friend also seems to already forget about him.
His left hand wrapped around the straps of a plastic bag that contains some snacks and soft drinks he bought earlier, giving him a slight discomfort and sweaty feelings around his palm. The somehow cold early April afternoon breeze brushes upon his white dyed locks, fluttering a bit as his feet joyfully step on the rock cement of the footpath.
The white face mask is hiding the small smile plasters on his lips - nostalgic, he thought. I missed walking beside him when we were twelve.
Just as Kai is a few steps closer to the bus stop, he hears footsteps, loud and fast, coming from behind him. Out of instinct, he turns around, and surprisingly, it was Beomgyu.
Beomgyu is running towards him. Without bothering to take a glance at the younger, Beomgyu just runs off past him and immediately slows down as he reaches the bus stop.
Kai's smile falters, Is he really didn't remember me?
Kai shrugs off the thought and continues walking until he also reaches the bus stop. He looks at Beomgyu that is panting, probably because he was running earlier.
Why was he running? He looks like he's in a rush.
Kai noticed the white highlights on Beomgyu's hair. The younger smiles slightly as he observes Beomgyu.
Pointy perfect nose, roundish-almond brown eyes, puckered thin cherry lips. He still looks the same. Except for the hair. His shoulder-length raven lock is slightly fluttering because of the wind. Not forget to mention the white highlights that outstanding his silky smooth hair even more.
Beomgyu is checking himself with his phone camera. He grins widely while mesmerizing his visual reflected on the phone screen.
But his smile automatically died down as he looks at the time showing it's already 1 pm.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, I'm gonna be late. Where the hell is the damn bus?!" Beomgyu mumbles under his breath. He unknowingly bites his lips; a habit he does when he's panicking.
Kai looks at his wristwatch and stares back at the older that is impatiently standing in front of him. It's 1 pm, the bus will be here at any moment soon. Why is he so anxious?
Kai just watches as Beomgyu impatiently tiny jumps in front of him. The older looks desperate.
"Oh fuck, oh God, Soobin is going to kill me- Oh! Finally!" Beomgyu shouts in relief as he notices a bus that is coming towards them from far away.
As if the world suddenly stops moving, Beomgyu spins and accidentally jumps and hits his leg on the small barrier of the footpath. Beomgyu waits, he closes his eyes and scrunches his face, waiting for his body to painfully hit the road- but it never did.
Realizing he just got safe from falling, he immediately opens his eyes and met the owner of the hand that has been gripping the crew neck of his sweater.
"B-beomgyu hyung, I-"
"Huening Kai? What the fu- AAHH!"
Kai suddenly unintentionally loosens his grip on the older one's sweater. He widen his eyes when he realized and his body automatically moves forward and catches Beomgyu.
