"YOU BITCH WHY DID YOU JUST RELEASE YOUR HAND-"

"SHUT UP!" Kai breathes in, "Oh my God, hyung, can you shut up for once! Your dumbass is the one that almost falls and if not because of me, your pretty body might be full of bruises because of the falling impact right now!" He breathes out.

Surprised by the sudden snap, Beomgyu just keeps his mouth zipped.

Both of Kai's hands are still gripping Beomgyu's forearms softly. Just then the younger realized he dropped the plastic bag earlier. Carefully, he lets go of the older and slowly takes a step back to build some gap in between them.

The intense silence has been swallowing them. Neither of them wanted to talk first, to make a move, to at least greet each other.

Kai is sweating under his mask, the straps of the plastic bag he picked up are not helping his sweaty hand either. But still, the younger is staring at the male in front of him, as if he's waiting for the older to say something or at least thanks to him for saving him earlier.

Beomgyu has been glaring everywhere but Kai's direction. A part of him just wanted to keep quiet, don't do anything, and then Kai will probably ignore him. But another part of him wanted to talk to the younger, to have a conversation, to discuss what happened to them, to at least say thank you for saving him.

"Thank you for saving me from falling... I guess." Beomgyu mumbles silently but still audible for the younger.

Kai keeps quiet. He just stares at the older as if Beomgyu is something interesting to stare at. The mask that hides half of the younger one's face didn't help him to analyze Kai's emotions either, making him look expressionless.

But the truth is, Kai is dying under the mask.

Oh my God, maybe we could be friends again-

"Don't think you saving me from falling can makes us friends again."

Nope, false hope.

Kai sighs. Beomgyu's words were quite harsh and cold but he still manages to smile slightly though he knew the mask is hiding it.

"Whatever." Kai rolls his eyes, tone nonchalant.

Just a few moments after that, the bus has arrived in front of them. Kai saw how Beomgyu's lips curved into a relieved smile.

When the bus door opens, Beomgyu didn't think twice and automatically step on it, almost falling again but thankfully he was quick to catch the railing that was inside the bus.

Kai sighs, this impatient dumb hyung.

"See you at school."

Kai looks up and meets the expressionless yet slight hinted with forced cheeriness eyes. Beomgyu smiles a line and waves his hand with no enthusiasm.

Kai chuckles half-heartedly, "Yeah, see you."

With that, the bus door closed and the bus starts moving again, bringing the passengers inside it to the next destination.

Kai takes off his mask and smiles widely. If people are walking past him, they will probably think he's a crazy person for smiling like a maniac alone at the bus stop.

"I'm going to get my best friend again!" Kai cheers out loud.

He ignores the thing that Beomgyu said about them can't be friends again, his hope is already past the roof. Kai is positive that Beomgyu will slowly accept him again, hundred percent definitely.

But then, the realization hits him. He forgot that he needs to get on the bus to go back to the therapy center.

"Fuck." Kai mumbles silently. He closes his eyes and sighs. "I'm a dumbass."
