"No, I'm sorry to say we haven't seen him here," a muscular and very flamboyant man twirled his baby hairs as he looked your drawing over. Behind you was a line that was quickly forming to get an adjustment on their automail. Atelier Garfiel was one of the most popular places to go in Rush Valley, so maybe it was a stretch to think your wanted killer could've possibly come here. But every establishment checked is a step closer.

"I see, well thanks anyway," you pulled back with a look of defeat on your face. You walked for hours on end, thoroughly investigating professional and underground businesses. Within the last three days, you've only had a wink of sleep and one proper meal. Determination was both your strength and your weakness. Your hair was beginning to fall loose from its up-do with each stressful thought and your dark circles obtrude.

In the back of your mind, you craved a hot shower and a nice homemade dinner from your mother, but you fought all emotions that would get in the way of your hard work. You searched the town high and low and lost count of how many automail engineers you came into contact with.

You let out a big sigh and hung your head low. Edward became grouchier by the minute as his stomach relentlessly growled. "I'm so hungry..." he walked with slumped shoulders. You tried to keep a calm composure, but the pressure of being held responsible for a murderer weighed heavy on your shoulders.

"He may not pose much of a threat now, but he knows I'm looking for him. If we stop now, things will get a whole lot harder," you walked quickly with them in tow. The exaggerated sigh behind you almost made you laugh. "Giving up Ed? Why don't you go get a place to stay and a nice meal, my treat," your confidence in solving this case alone was astounding.

"That sounds lovely, but who will be there when you fail to catch him again?" Edward barked back. You bit your tongue but gave him a quick glare of disapproval.

"Very funny," you finally responded, knowing that if the circumstances were different you'd send him to hell and back. "He can't be too far from here, stay on your toes little boy," with your petty insult his head nearly exploded.

"Calm down brother," Alphonse held him back with a nervous laugh, knowing good and well Edward would set this town on fire if he didn't intervene.

If Lenny hasn't found an underground mechanic half as crazy as him by now, he's still wandering the streets. Just his name alone made you feel incredibly nauseous, and you were eager to get your hands on him.

After a little bit of back and forth and hours of wandering, you sat in defeat with your elbows perched on a wobbly table and rested your chin in your hands. You watched the blonde Elric scarf down his food as if he'd never eaten a day in his life. You were slightly amused that such a little body could intake that much.

"Aren't you hungry?" Edward paused his chewing and looked at you with big cheeks. Your stomach growled loudly in response and you pursed your lips.

"Not really," you turned your head and shut your eyes, not allowing yourself to look at the food.

Edward stabbed a potato cube on his fork and waved it in front of your face. "Eat it, you look like you're about to collapse." You furrowed your brows and glared at him before snatching the fork out of his hand and taking a bite.

The relief you felt couldn't be described when you finally filled yourself up with delicious food. But the more comfortable you made yourself, the more you wanted to ring in the night and get back at it tomorrow. Edward set money on the table and stood up, patting his full tummy.
