We stayed in that tree for a while longer, his curiosity rivaling my own. It wasn't until the sun made its surprising appearance, showering Edward in its rays, causing his skin to sparkle. I've seen his kind sparkle before, but I'm guessing it's different when you're mate is one.

I snorted, laughing a bit as he gave me an amused look. "I'm not a disco ball." His brows furrowed at my mental joke and I couldn't help but burst into fits of laughter. I didn't even care that he had heard what I thought, it seemed to make the joke even better

"How long have you been in forks? It seems odd that I've never seen you here before." The sun disappeared behind the clouds once again, leaving his skin to look ghostly pale as usual. I stared out over the forest in silence for a long moment before glancing back at him. "I got here December 31 of 2019." His head snapped to me as he had a confused look on his face.

"What is it?" I blinked, not entirely sure why he was looking at me that way. " It's just that you came here around the same time we had just gotten back. We left again for vacation recently but then returned. I guess that explains why Alice was so jumpy." He muttered, looking down at the ground beneath us. I stared at his face, branding every part of his being to my memory before I release a sigh. I didn't want to but I knew it was time to go home. "As short as our time together was, I have to return home." I took the liberty of leaping out of the tree, swinging way down until I landed on the balls of my feet. He landed next to me a second later, a brow raised as he gave me a questioning look. "Will I see you again?" He grabbed my hand in his and stepped closer, his eyes seeming to sparkle as if he wanted to cry. I smirked before stepping away from him.

"I'm not going anywhere. I wouldn't be able to, I rather not hear your mental screams in my head anymore. While I'm away, you should probably deal with Bella." I turned away and dashed off until I disappeared from his view.

**EDWARD P.O.V.**

*Deal with Bella...*

I had forgotten that she'd even existed, I was too wound up in the beauty and mind of the person I've been waiting for for over a hundred years. I was already walking in the direction of my family home, seeing that they were already waiting for me to return to the living room.

Alice, who happened to be jumping up in down in excitement just before I had come in, squealed loudly. "YOU TWO ARE PERFECT TOGETHER!" She grinned hugely at me, and in turn, I rolled my eyes at her hardy behavior.

"Jeez Alice, your thoughts are a jumbled-up mess, calm down." She was giving me a headache. I was seeing vision after Vision, thought after thought, scene after scene. It was bazaar how many moments she was able to see not just with me, with my entire family.

"I can't wait to have a new best friend, and her fashion taste is astounding. SHOPPING BUDDIES!"She squealed again, taking off to her room in a fit of giggles, Jasper looking at me with an amused expression before taking off after his mate.

" I'm guessing things went well, son?" Carlisle rose an eyebrow at me when he noticed my smile, I'm pretty sure that was answer enough.

*deal with Bella....*

"Very well actually, speaking of which." I looked at Bella and felt my expression harden. "Bella, I have found my mate, I suggest you do the same." Her golden Irises seemed to flare in anger before she stood up, bristling.

"Oh Bella, don't start, I've been itching to throw you out the window all day." Rosalie groaned in exasperation, her eyes narrowed to slits. I rolled my eyes as I saw the many ways Rosalie wanted to beat Bella's ass, yet I shook my head.

"Why Edward? Why her?" She questioned as if she didn't hear what I had just said.

*sometimes I wonder if maybe she was using me just so she could be immortal...*

"C'mon Bella are you Deaf? She's his mate. Why is that so hard to grasp?" Emmett usually didn't get upset unless it had something to do with his mate, but I'm guessing he too was getting fed up with her behavior over the last couple of years.

"Bella, please, don't make this harder on yourself. We both know we're not each other's mate, don't make yourself look stupid by chasing after me. If you do anything to harm her, I'll kill you myself." I had made myself clear with that warning, but I knew deep down, Nieve could handle herself.

"Whatever." She rolled her eyes and darted upstairs into her room, the door closing with a slam.

I looked to everyone else in the room and sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose as I felt my anxiousness disappear. Jasper and Alice made their way back down in silence, Alice with a smug look on her face.

*' Be wary of Bella, she'll do anything if it means keeping you away from my sister-in-law.'*

I looked to Alice and blinked, surprised that marriage was coming up in her thoughts so soon.

"Marriage? Already?" I walked over and sat on the empty loveseat, my eyes on my sister. " Don't be surprised, it's meant to happen." She smiled her signature smile and I put my hand over my eyes to kill the radiance.

"Alice I know what you're thinking, don't-----"

"--- I'M PLANNING IT, there's nothing else you can say, so BUTT OUT!"

I just shook my head, staring out our home window, wondering, hoping I could see her again.

Not long after I made it home, I let my body rest in the soothing bath I had prepared, gazing at the onyx tile in wonder. I had found my mate, he wasn't just my mate, but a true mate. It was surreal, I have gotten so used to the idea of being alone for the rest of my existence.
