Chapter 61. True love Part 3

Everyone went quiet when the song "I want to dance with somebody by Whitney Houston" started playing. The curtain opened, and Kaylee, Vittoria, and the triplets appeared on the aisle. I looked in amazement at the kids when they started dancing. I couldn't take my eyes off the triplets. They captivated me with their moves. The kids ran to Amelia when the song was over. Amelia quickly handed them their bouquets and fixed their hair. The children walked back to the entrance, then took a stand. They slowly walked towards the altar when the song "Thinking out loud by Ed Sheeran" started playing.

I did my best to keep my emotions under control when I saw Zachariel walking towards me with his parents. Zachariel had surprised me by changing everything regarding the ceremony. The kids approached me when their task was over. I hugged my children, then said to them, "You guys did great, kiddos. I'm very proud of you." The children giggled, then responded to me in unison with, "Thank you, daddy." The kids ran towards Cora when she called out to them. I decided to concentrate on Zachariel when I saw that the kids were in good hands. Caterina and Giovanni led Zachariel with pride to the altar. I chuckled when I heard Giovanni ask Zachariel, "Are you sure that you want to go through with this wedding, Patrizio? A helicopter is on standby in case you change your mind and want to flee the scene."

Caterina hit Giovanni's arm, then stated, "Stop joking around, darling. Can't you see that our son can't wait to be Alexei's husband?" Zachariel hugged his father, then said, "Alexei is my home, dad. I finally feel like I'm irreplaceable. I can say with all certainty that Alexei won't fail me. He loves me too much to harm me. I know that he will do everything in his power to make this marriage work." I was proud of Zachariel for showing the world how much I adored him. Giovanni placed a kiss on Zachariel's forehead, then stated, "We love you, son. We are glad that you found your true love."

Zachariel walked to the kids after his parents went to take a seat. He kissed the children's cheeks, then uttered, "Thank you for letting me marry your father, munchkins." Jacques threw himself at Zachariel, then said, "I love you, papa." Zachariel kissed Jacques's head, then joined me at the altar. I cupped Zachariel's face, then asked him, "Is this why you canceled the wedding rehearsal, Zachariel?" Zachariel chuckled, then answered me with, "You don't deserve a recycled wedding, Alexei. You are my heart and soul. I wanted to do something special for you. There is more to come, babe. Our wedding ceremony will be memorable for everyone." I kissed Zachariel passionately, then caressed his cheek. Leonardo laughed, then shouted, "I guess we can all go home now, guys." People burst out laughing.

The wedding minister cleared his throat, then asked me, "Would you like me to start the ceremony now, Mr. Marquis?" I nodded, then stated, "Yes, Go ahead." I kept staring at Zachariel while the wedding minister held his speech about the essence of marriage. Zachariel nodded when the wedding minister asked us if we had prepared our wedding vows. He grinned, then said to the minister, "I would like to go first, sir." The wedding minister chuckled, then responded to Zachariel with, "No problem, young man."

Zachariel took a deep breath, then uttered, "Dear, Alexei Marquis. I would have tried to woo you earlier if I had known what a great guy you were. I noticed you many times during functions. You were someone unattainable to me then. I thought that we didn't belong in the same circle. I had made a name for myself, but I wasn't where I wanted to be. I believed that I wasn't worthy to stand shoulder to shoulder with you. I can still remember the day when I walked into your office. I was broken and lost back then. You reminded me of what I could have had. I was ashamed of myself. I have never told you this before, but you saved me that day by treating me like the business tycoon I once was. You made me feel like I deserved to be alive and happy. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving me, Alexei, and for giving me the most amazing children in the world."
