The Unforgettable

A few months ago when Charlie and Damien were catching up on social media, Charlie suggested that Damien should come live with him and his family in Glendale and should also check out the college's there as well as get to have a change of environment.

To many bad memories in Riverside, haunting memories that seem to follow him everywhere. Damien excepted Charlie's offer and was half to visit Peoria. Damien hoped that things would get better by leaving all those sad memories back in Riverside - but this was not the case.

He remembered the dream he had in the early hours of the morning and it seemed like every time he had this nightmare something bad would happen, this dream was like a premonition and a warning to him.

Sitting dazed by the table outside the mall he thought about how many times he had this nightmare.

" Hey kid are you okay ... do you need something " asked Adam noticing that far off dazed look on Damien's face

" No I'm ... uuh just thinking about this kid " said Damien

" Yeah hey that kid didn't live far from Johns house ... he was going through some stuff at home "  replied Adam

John suddenly came to sit next to Damien while the rest was making phone calls to people who knew Malik.

Lisa was busy on the phone with Simone and by the looks of it Simone didn't really take the news well.

John continued " He was a good kid , never knew him for getting into things like that ... you know guns and stuff like that. I can't get over what happened yesterday in The Shack "

" You don't think that Simone did something to Malik to tip him off " asked Adam in a hused  voice

" I mean we all know they were together and then this " said Adam shaking his head

Damien listened to these two boys and then suddenly remembered yesterday when they arrived at The Shack, Simone came over to speak to them. He remembered there were many times when her phone buzzed, it left her feeling irritated so she just ignored her phone. Damien assumed that it was Malik calling her but for some reason she just ignored him.

Joe came back from inside the mall telling these guys that Simone was really hurt and heart-broken and blames herself for what happened.

" So does this guy have any family "  asked Damien

John who still seemed little shocked about the news replied " Malik lost his father a few years ago and with him being an only child his mother moved on with somebody else ... Malik wasn't happy, my heart sure goes out to his mother you know ... first her husband, now her son and you know what, it feels like he some how felt abandoned by everyone"

" Yeah I can see that, I hope it doesn't kill Simone with guilt " replied Adam

" Just spoke to Simone , you guys know how she is ... she blames herself for what happened, you know I've never been so scared in my life after yesterday's incident ... I was actually glad to see my dad " Lisa scoffed

Noticing Damien who was also seated at the table, Lisa said " You must be .... ( trying to recall Damien's name )"

" Damien " Damien said finishing Lisa's sentence

"Yeah we've never been properly introduced " said Damien

" Would you guys believe it if I told you how Linda seemed genuinely concerned about me yesterday  ... I swear that women has my father rapped around her little finger" Said Lisa

" Wait whose Linda ? " asked a curious Damien

" Oh she's just my father's wife " Rolling her eyes as she spoke about Linda

" I just can't stand her, she acts  like she cares so much about me but I know her evil intentions ... you should see my dad with her son , that little shit " commented Lisa

" So she's that bad huh ? " asked Damien

Lisa looking straight at Damien asked " You don't know half of it, how long are you are here for? "

To which Damien replied " Oh just a couple weeks , I'm here with Charlie, I mean I'm living in his home. I might be going to College here"

"Oh so where are you from " Lisa asked

" Born and bred in Cali , a small place called Riverside ... I've lived there with my Aunt"

After some time talking to Lisa, Charlie came up to the table telling Damien its time to leave.

Driving home these two boys were very quiet. Charlie lost in his thoughts while Damien kept thinking about Lisa who he had just spoken to.

He couldn't help but feel guilty since he judged Lisa before he even got to know her. Yesterday in the restaurant he had the feeling that Lisa was just another privileged brat but now it seems that she is not all that bad. She seemed to be a good friend to the one that was hurting right now, Simone.
