Tales of the headspace || OSDD -(thumbnail is random lol)

??? had always been a very Interesting person. It liked adventuring and was quite stable in terms of mental health. It liked to go out to watch birds and sit on rocks to watch animals come out to play in the grass. One day that all changed...

??? said to everyone that it's going out further than it usually does and it may take a while longer to get back. Nobody bated an eye, quite normal for an adventurous person to want to go on an adventure right?

??? left the house with it's phone, a portable charger, some binoculars and a notebook and pen. Everybody said their goodbyes and expected ??? to be back in a few hours.

??? was having a lot of fun and decided to go out even further than planned. It was now the end of the day and ??? was lost. Of course it was. This was bound to happen! Turns out, it hadn't checked the data plan it had and the text messages it sent to Michaela had never got received! Nobody knew where it was or that it was lost.

Back at the house, Lucifer had gotten a little worried about it. "Michaela have you gotten any texts? I would've thought ???'d be back by now..."

"No, I haven't yet. Anyone else?" Nobody else replied. "I know it said it would be out for a while longer than normal," Lucifer says, "but it's always been 1h 30 at the most, never 5..." Axie turns around and mentions that it always messages when something's wrong and that it's probably fine. They all agree to sleep and search for ??? in the morning to give it time to find it's way back if it really isn't lost.

"They usually worry about me when I'm longer than an hour! It's 9pm already and... nothing." ??? Thought to itself. It thought they were bound to think something was wrong by now. It decided it would sleep on it to figure out the next move.

Weeks go by and neither have communication to the others. Nobody had seen ??? Ever since it left.

"Guys..." says Axie, "you might wanna see this."
Glair snatches the paper out of Axie's hands and reads it aloud with a shocked look on wolfs face. It read, "A man living on the coastline of England found missing after informing household of said, 'extra long expedition' for animal-watching."

Everybody had a surprised expression except one person, Lucifer. Jason asked in a very panicked tone why Lucifer didn't seem the least bit worried. They replied with information that they woke up in the middle of the night to check if anyone had come back yet and no-one had. They said they reported it missing to the police station.

Michaela agreed, that was the supposed 'next thing' she was going to do. We all know Michaela can't keep any plans in order.

The police ended up doing an investigation into the case and didn't find anything since the phone was out of data and nobody knew exactly where it had gone out to in the first place.

After 2 weeks of searching, they closed the case and assumed death upon ???. Everybody was devastated. Saying to each other how they never got to share how much they always loved it.

Meanwhile, ??? had no idea it was assumed dead and got extremely lonely. It had nobody to talk to. It guessed nobody was trying to look for it as he hadn't seen anybody for about a month now.

We see it messaging Michaela's phone number things like, "I miss you," and, "Today I finally managed to dig up that old brick I had my eyes on for a while," and, "I wish I had stayed home." It was suffering. It was going insane.

It decided it would give up on the phone and try to live a traditional life, as the device had no point now. It thought, "I came here to watch animals, I know where they all hunker down, I don't want to eat all the ones here, I'll have to find some others.

A few more months pass and ???'s phone is probably underneath the ground at this point. Hasn't been used or seen, probably fell off the wooden table onto the grass and trodden on a lot. That didn't bother ??? as all it did was serve as a coping mechanism for it's loneliness. It did that with it's notepad now.
