PROFANUS ISN'T A GOD IN THE ACTUAL STORYLINE IN GENSHIN IMPACT!! I MADE IT UP!

This chapter could include spoilers from the story, "Chapter I Act III: A New Star Approaches."
There could be similar events regarding the event above.
As well as Xiao's backstory is also spoiled.

Madame Ping had come up with this strange plan. It was clever, sure, but it had a bit of a devil essence.

"First, I suggest we go to the place where Morax slew the ancient god. I have heard of an artefact that we can use to help kill the god once again. If it truly has arisen, we can use the artefact to locate him and it will make Profanus weaker. We will then continue to a ritual to keep Profanus from entering Teyvat ever again." Madame Ping described the plan.

Everybody looked at her with curiosity and doubt. It seemed rather strange.

Sure, the artefact thing made sense, but the ritual?

"Wouldn't it just be more efficient if I used myself as bait?" Xiao asked furrowing his eyebrows.

Aether immediately shot him the death stare.

And, boy, it was intimidating.

Aether would never let Xiao endanger himself. Yes, it was his job, but purposely with a dangerous ancient god that has magically arisen and obviously has caused Xiao mental damage?

Hell no.

"Now, now, wouldn't he recognise that he's being set up?" Madame Ping shot back.

"Possibly, but I think it's our best option." Xiao suggested again not caring about the intimidating stare of his lover.

"Let's take a vote." Keqing suggested. "Although Xiao is powerful, can we risk the possibility of losing someone?"

"Madame Ping's plan seems a bit..off.." Keqing said worriedly.

"But, we do have more of a chance losing someone than we do defeating Profanus with this strange..artefact." She tried to calculate the risks in her head as she spoke.

Everyone discussed the plan a little longer before deciding.

The two choices were "lure Profanus out" or "kill him with a ritual."

1 vote, Moon Carver. Kill him with a ritual.
Everyone dies eventually, but can we risk losing our Vigilant Yaksha?

1 vote, Ganyu. Lure Profanus out.
Madame Ping seems..off.

1 vote, Keqing. Kill him with a ritual.
There is something devious about Madame Ping's plan. But maybe it will work?

1 vote, Cloud Retainer. Kill him with a ritual.
Perhaps..this is the best way?

1 vote, Mountain Shaper. Lure Profanus out.
Our Yaksha is far too strong to be slain by Profanus.

1 vote, Aether. Lure Profanus out.
No way am I letting Xiao endanger himself. He means far too much to me.

One person left.

"There is one last vote." Moon Carver said nervously.

"What will you choose, Lady Ningguang?" Ganyu was terrified to know the answer.

"I choose...." Ningguang began to speak.

"To kill Profanus."

Aether was relieved to finally hear Ningguang's decision.
He was quite satisfied for what she had to say.

Aether let out a big exhale. Although, when he opened his eyes, he saw everyone going over the plan, but Xiao was walking away.

Shouldn't he be listening to the plan? Aether thought as one eyebrow raised above the other.

He followed Xiao to make sure he was alright.

Xiao looked out into the distance in Guyun Stone Forest, he stood by himself for a moment in the sand.

His arms were crossed. He looked puzzled.

Aether peeked out from a rock before approaching him as quiet as possible.

He came behind Xiao, of course the Yaksha already knew he was there, but he didn't want to burst Aether's "plan."

When he came behind Xiao, he wrapped his arms around his waist, hugging him tightly against the blonde's body.

The Yaksha looked down and blushed.

"Are you okay?" Aether mumbled as he rested his face on Xiao's back.

"I just know that luring him out is the best way to do it. I've experienced his wrath, and he would come for me." "It would be easy to kill him." Xiao tried to convince Aether that it was a good plan, but Aether was not having it.

"No! What if something goes wrong? What if I lost you? What if you'd get captured once again? What if you die? What if-" Aether was hastily asking a bunch of "what if" questions when suddenly Xiao turned around.

The adeptus cupped his face and smashed his lips onto Aethers.

Butterflies swarmed around Aether's stomach as he kissed Xiao back.

Why did it feel like a goodbye kiss..?

Their lips departed seconds afterwards. Xiao looked into Aether's radiant glowing yellow eyes.

Aether looked worried. He took his hand to hold Xiao's hand while it was still on his face.

"It's okay." Xiao kissed Aether's forehead. "I'm not going anywhere."

Aether rested his head in Xiao's arms and they stood there hugging.

"C-Can we stay like this for a little while longer?" Aether's voice was muffled as he spoke into Xiao's chest.

The Yaksha kissed Aether's head again. "I would like that as well."

The traveller smiled as he leaned more into Xiao's warm embrace.

Madame Ping watched them from the side.

Her eyes flickered with red.

Is Xiao really not going anywhere..?

I swear sometimes these scenes would be a lot better in animation or in Episode.

There will be hopefully only one more part to this "Profanus" thing.
