"Sure, help yourself," he grumpily watched as you dove into the book he was just getting into. But when he saw how focused you became, despite the fact you no longer use alchemy, it strangely made him feel happy. "Say, you used to be an alchemist right?"

"Yeah, so?" Your eyes never left those pages.

"Well, you think you can do it now?" His question made you think. But as tempting as it sounded, you reminded yourself alchemy had taken your brother from you.

"No way are you kidding," you laughed and handed his book back to him. "Forget it," you slid onto your back and turned away from him, laying comfortably on your side. "Wake me up when you're done," you yawned and quickly nodded off to sleep.

Edward watched you for a moment, amazed with how quickly you were able to fall asleep. He set his book down quietly and leaned forward, sliding off his red coat and throwing it over your body. As he sat back, he noticed his younger brother watching him with suspicious eyes. Edward's face blew up in smoke when Al teased him relentlessly. "Shut up Alphonse," he grumbled, hiding his face with a book.

Another hour went by, and you were abruptly awaken by a big, slobbery dog tongue licking across your face to wake you up. You quickly sat up with a squeak of surprise and wiped the slobber off your face.

"Alexander!" A little girls voice called to the big dog who stared at you with an excited tail. You stared at him in shock, still not entirely awake. Once your brain processed what happened you pet his head.

"Sweet boy," you giggled as he rubbed his head against your cheek. You saw red out of the corner of your eyes and looked down. When you realized it was Edward's coat you looked at him with wide eyes, who sat still in the same spot he was hours ago, reading another book.

"You were shivering, it was pathetic," Edward said to cover up his embarrassing act of kindness, and you smiled in return, gripping at the coat and bringing it closer to your chest.

"Thank you..." you set it back around his shoulders and stood up, stretching your stiff limbs and yawning big. Nina, the sweet daughter of Shou Tucker watched you with big eyes. "Hello, you must be Nina," you crouched back down, petting the dogs head and smiling big at her. She nodded in response, she looked as if she wanted to say something but was too shy to say it. "Are you bored too?" Her eyes lit up, she nodded vigorously and grabbed your hand, running out of that room with you in tow. "Woah-" With her sudden movements and significant height difference, you stumbled a bit at first but you were able to keep up.

The brothers snickered as you had fallen Nina's next victim of playtime.

"Let's play big sister!"

Hours have passed, hours of playing and scribbling on paper with Nina. She talked about her mother and how much she misses her, and after letting her talk as long as she needed to, she fell asleep in your lap. You were sat up tall against the wall her bed was pushed up to. You didn't have the heart to wake her or move her, so you sat in silence and gently rubbed her head. You felt yourself growing attached to this tiny human very quickly, understand her pain of losing a family member and being alone.

I wish I could talk like that. It might do me some good to get things off my chest. You thought as you chewed on the inside of your cheek, then you almost laughed at yourself. No way.

Your eyes became heavy, it was crazy how quickly tiredness crept up on you when you weren't busy. Before you knew it you yourself had began to dozed off.

"(Y/n)? Nina? They must be in here," Edward pushed the door to Nina's room, and the sound of the door abruptly opening scared you awake. "There you are, this house is so big we thought we'd never find you."

"Are you done studying?" You rubbed the sleep from your eyes and stretched your arms.

"Yeah but we'll be back in the morning," he watched you carefully maneuver to lay Nina down as she slept soundly.

You had successfully pulled away without waking her. "Good night, Nina," you whispered and gently placed a blanket over her shoulders. You stepped back slowly, smiling down at her with admiration. You followed the brothers out the bedroom door, quietly clicking it shut.

"Goodbye Mr. Tucker, we'll be back tomorrow," you all said your brief goodbyes as you walked out the door. The atmosphere had somehow seemed significantly darker than it did earlier in the day, it gave you chills.

This house is off...

When you laid in bed after a delicious dinner and a relaxing shower, you thought of what tomorrow would be. If you would make any progress, if the boys would make a discovery regarding the philosophers stone, or if you'd finally meet your end.

Days were inconsistent and more often than not, dangerous.

You remembered the day you decided to join the military, and how Maes Hughes begged you not to. But even so he felt as if he didn't have the right to block you from discovering the truth. He cried like a baby, holding onto your legs like a toddler pleading their parents not to leave.

Liam was a State Alchemist for a very short amount of time. He wasn't extremely well known publicly, and he often kept to his small group. Perhaps that was his demise.

"Damn, I'm exhausted..." you yawned and turned on your side, gazing out the window at the moon that had a red hue and let yourself doze off. You grabbed a pillow and hugged it close to your chest, laying your head flat on the mattress. You couldn't sleep with a pillow under your head, a strange thing that began when your brother died; just as checking locked doors multiple times before bed and refusing to eat sandwiches.

Your eyes fell heavy, and you couldn't fight the sleepiness anymore.

"Good night, big brother..."

Question for you lovely people, do you prefer to watch anime subbed or dubbed? I typically prefer subbed, but for FMA and series with the same English VA's (ex: OHSHC) I really enjoy watching them dubbed.
