Veer gently pushed open the ICU room's door and stepped inside.
All the tests were over now and therefore, Kunal asked him to stay with Rani.
Veer pulled a chair to sit by her.
Tears brimmed in his eyes as he took her hand in his.
Veer: I'm sorry Rani. Aapko har musibat se bachane ka, har takleef se dur rakhne ka wada kiya thha maine...par mai wo wada nahi nibha paya....Aap zimmedari hai meri... aapki safety meri responsibility hai...Par mai kuch nahi kar paya.
Akhir kyu mere rehte bhi aapko itna sab kuch jhelna parta hai? Mujhpe jabbhi koi musibat aayi hai, aap meri dhal banke mere saamne khari rahi, par mai? Mai kabhi aapke liye kuch nahi kar paya Rani.
Aap ye deserve nahi karti Rani... please jaldi se thik hojaiye na...ek aakhri baar mujhe apni galti ke liye maaf kardijiye...aayenda kabhi aapko shikayat kaa mauka nahi dunga.
Veer kept her hand down and wiped his tears.
"Veer"
A voice called him out. Veer turned to meet the voice. It was Kunal standing at the door.
Kunal: Sorry mai tujhe disturb nhi karna chahta thha but wo reports aagayi hai to--
Veer: it's ok Kunal. Reports ko ekbar dekhlena bhi zaroori hai. I'll come.
Kunal: Great. Mai nurse ko bhejta hoo bhabi ke paas rehne ke liye.
Veer nodded and both of them went out.

Veer: dad aap kuch pareshan lag rahe hai...
Ranvijay: nahi bete aesi koi baat nahi hai. Hum bas Rani ke liye thode tensed hai aur kuch nahi.
Veer: dad aap please thodi der rest karlijiye. Raat horhi hai..aap thak gaye honge.
Ranvijay: nahi bete--
Veer: dad please...
Ranvijay: thik hai beta.

(In mind) Veer ne to khud hi humare liye rasta bana diya. Ab bas sahi waqt ka intezar hai.

Veer: Kya hai reports mai Kunal?
Kunal: Veer, saare reports ko examine karne ke baad I could conclude ki bhabi ko chot shayad kisi height se girne ki wajah se lagi hai...
Veer: height se girne ki wajah se?
Kunal: hmm...but vo jahan giri thhi vo ground zyada hard nahi thha isiliye bahar ka zakhm zyada gehra to nahi hai but internal bleeding ke chances thhe.
Veer looked at him with a terrified expression.
Kunal: hey...ghabrane ki koi baat nahi hai. Maine MRI ki reports check ki hai... report mai aesa kuch bhi nahi aaya hai.
Veer sighed in relief.

Ranvijay dialled a number on his mobile phone.
Ranvijay: hello....jaisa knaha thha waisa kiya hai na?....haan haan tumhare paise pohuch jayenge....pehle tum aapne aadmi ko bhejo...haan...ICU Mai hai wo...koi gadbad nahi honi chahiye...okay...
He cut the call and smirked.

In Kunal's cabin,,
Kunal: Accident kisi bhi type ka ho..agar sar pe chot lagti hai to brain ke function pe bhi uska asar par sakta hai...
Veer: kaisa asar?
Kunal: Traumatic Brain Injury.

A man dressed in hospital scrub suit and holding a rod like thing in his left hand, came and stood in front of the ICU.
He looked at his left, at his right and then took a quick look at the empty corridor behind him.
He peeked in through the mini window. The nurse was sitting near Rani's bed, dozing.
The man, half opened the door and tiptoed inside.
He raised the rod and hit the nurse right behind her head. She shrieked in pain and fell on the ground.
The man sidled up to Rani's side and removed her mask.
He pulled out a tin can from his bloated pocket, dropped it on the ground and ran out of the room, closing the door behind him.
Soon, a gas started to emerge out of the can.

Kunal: TBI brain ke uss parts ko affect karti hai that handle learning and remembering.
He paused to breath and glanced at Veer once.
Kunal: par jabtak unhe hosh nahi aata humme nahi pata chalega ki koi problem hai ki nahi.
Veer: kab tak hosh aayega unhe?
Kunal: 12 ghanto mai unhe hosh ajayega.
Veer: okay. Par--
Veer's words were cut in midway as Kunal got up his seat and rushed towards the door.
Veer too turned back to check what happened.
Kunal: Nurse, ye sab.. ye sab kaise hua?
He asked helping the injured nurse to stand up.
Nurse: vo..I-ICU mai---
She said while coughing. But the word ICU was enough to alarm Veer.
Her name escaped his lips as he got up his seat too and ran out, hastily.

Ranvijay looked at his watch.
His work should've been done by now.
Within a few seconds, his phone started ringing.
Ranvijay: hello..
On the other side of the call: Kaam hogaya hai. Jaisa kahan thha mere aadmi ne bilkul waisa hi kiya hai.
Ranvijay: great! Tumhe iski keemat mil jayegi. Kal subah milte hai.
On the other side of the call: hmmm.

The ICU room was filled with the gas now.
Rani's life support had already been removed and now this gas was making breathing more difficult
for her.
No sooner Veer entered the room than he himself started coughing.
But he didn't care about himself, his utmost priority at this moment was Rani.
Veer: Rani....
He murmured upon reaching her side.
She was breathing, harder and quicker.
Veer: Kuch nahi hoga aapko... kuch nahi hone dunga mai aapko...
He said while putting back her face mask.
Meanwhile Kunal and few other staffs had also arrived.
Kunal instructed them to shift the patient from here.
The wardboys and nurses present, quickly carried out his orders.
Kunal: Veer! Tu thik to haina? Kya hua tujhe?
He asked concerned as Veer down sat on his knees while coughing badly.
Veer: haan...mai thik hoo.
Kunal: Nahi tu thik nahi hai..

Veer!!
He cried out as Veer passed out right in front of his eyes.
