It was new year now and everyone seemed to be doing one thing or another. Having dinners, throwing parties, attending parties to welcome in the year. And that was exactly what you were doing. There was a huge New year's party going on at the Royal Oaks Glen Oaks Oakwood Oaks Country Club that Lola was going to and although you weren't registered, she wanted you to come as her plus one and so you did.

"I really don't know" you sighed as she parked at the doors of the place. "Are you SURE I'll be allowed in?"

"I don't know, maybe, yes? No, Either way though it's better knowing than dying of anticipation" She giggled as you got out.

You nervously stepped in and looked around as she got to the reception.

"Hey, Lola" Said the girl at reception as she filed her nails.

"Hi!" She smiled and waved and was about to chatter away when she was cut short.

"Wait a second, who's this?" She looked suspiciously at your shaking form.

"Oh, it's ok, she's with me, she's my plus one" She smiled proudly and you waved nervously.

"Eh, alright, go through" She said.

"Yay!!" You and Lola cheered as you skipped through to where the party was. The music was blaring, people were dancing and chattering away and the smell of food was filling your senses and making you starving.

"Isn't this exciting?" Lola squealed and shook her fists, a grin glued to her face.

"Very!"

"Bun bun!" Lola gasped and rushed off to see her boyfriend and left you standing there. You looked around to see any familiar faces but you couldn't see any and you couldn't be bothered dancing at this point and someone was blocking the buffet so you had nothing to do.

You noticed Lola chattering away to someone else and then she turned around and pointed to you and you noticed someone familiar. Could it be? You gasped loudly and he did the same as he saw and then approached you.

"(y/n)!" He exclaimed in his booming voice which suspiciously sounded like King Neptune.

"Walter Bunny?"

"The very same! How are you? It's been ages since i last saw you"

"It has. I'm glad to see you again" You smiled and shook hands with your best friends dad.

"So, what have you been up to since we last saw each other? Still living out in (y/c)?"

"No, haven't you heard? I'm Lola's new roommate" You smiled at your bestie as you said this.

"Ah! I remember now. She said something about that"

"Yes, she's a very sweet girl, that's why she's my best friend" you laughed and he did the same. Lola's mother then joined the party and you talked with her and laughed before you noticed the buffet was free! You quickly said your goodbyes before leaving and picking up your plate, but the minute you smelled the food up close, you realized where it was from. "The pizzariba" you gasped as you took a bite of the familiar tasting treats. "That's right" an even more familiar voice said. "This party was catered to by the pizzariba" You looked in front of you and gasped. It was Speedy. "Speedy! What are you doing here?" You exclaimed and hugged the mouse. "Weren't you listening to a word i said?" He raisedan eyebrow. "Oh, right" You laughed sheepishly and rubbed the back of your neck. The music was pumping and people were carelessly talking and laughing and you couldn't hear yourselves think. "Say, do you want to escape thees crowd for a while?" he asked and pointed his thumb behind his back. "Why not?" You shrugged. You both got up and went out to the balcony and and inhaled the crisp, cold December air as you rested your arms and gazed out at the stars.

"So, good party, huh?" He asked.

"It is. A little loud for my liking though"

"eet'll be great to welcome a new year. What deed you think of thees one?"

"It was pretty hectic" You laughed softly and shook your head.

"Een a good way or a bad way?"

"Uh, well it started off bad, what with me losing my job and all, but i moved here, got a new one, new friends and even a boyfriend" You grinned and pinched his little cheek.

"Hmm, you have a point. Eet has been a good year when you put eet like that" He smiled and blushed but tried to hide it.

As you were both leaning in slowly to kiss, you were interrupted by the sound of Bugs yelling angrily.

"CECIL!" He snapped ferociously as you both rushed in to encounter the rabbit taking a stance, arms folded as he glared at a turtle.

"Bugs" The turtle said in a low growl.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were in jail!"

"I was, but i guess I'm not anymore" He smirked and checked his stubby fingernails.

"Who is he?" You whispered to speedy.

"Cecil turtle. He was in jail for scamming and pulling a gun on Bugs"

"Honestly?"

"si"

You looked in shock at the thought that the little turtle could do such a thing.

"Don't you know you're not welcome here?" Bugs snarled.

"Funny, i didn't see a no turtles allowed sign out" he said an irritating voice as he helped himself to some of the buffet.

"Get out of here! Speedy, back me up here" Bugs said as he suddenly caught sight of Speedy.

"What ARE you doing here, Cecil? No one likes you"

"Oh, quiet, I'm a changed man, er, turtle, give me half a chance!"

"Half a c-c-chance? You've t-taken half t-t-h-he buffet!" Added Porky.

"Speak for yourself, fatso" Cecil muttered under his breathe as he looked in contempt at the pig.

"That's it! Get out of here!" Bugs pointed his finger to the exit.

"Alright, alright, i can take a hint" He sighed.

"Clearly not" Speedy rolled his eyes as Cecil left.

"There! Now we can all enjoy ourselves" Bugs said, satisfied.

"We weell" Speedy smiled.

"I'm not so sure that was a good idea" You answered in a worried voice.

"I'm sure eet'll be fine"

Everyone then joined hands and started on a few verses on auld lang syne.

Meanwhile, Cecil was out alone, driving home and plotting in anger. "Darn, Bugs. I'm sick of him, always spoiling everything I do! That pig as well, and that stupid mouse! I'm going to make them all pay, see if I don't" He schemed as an evil grinch smile appeared on his wicked face.
