When You Least Expect It

I try to stay focused on the conversation happening around the now expanded group. That's when I notice a lot more people have joined us, when did they even get here? I have no idea who half these people are. Vance is talking about something, a girl at his side, but my eyes keep straying to look for Jade and my sister. Where are they? It shouldn't take that long right? What if some guys are bothering them? The thought has me stiffening. Maybe I should go look for them. I start to move when a voice to my left stops me. "You alright man?" I glance at Chase, he eyes me in return.

"Yeah, I'm good." I feel myself relax despite my urge to go search for them.

"You sure? You look like you're about to beat someone up."

"Who we beating up?" Vaughn joins us on my right, hopping from foot to foot.

"No one." I push him away and he stumbles sideways.

"Rude!" he yells out as he hops towards some unsuspecting girls, who giggle when he wraps his arms around their shoulders. I glance around the group again, "Who are all these people?"

"I hate to call them groupies but that's what some of them are." he shrugs. "I'm sure that hasn't changed that much since you've been here."

I definitely remember girls were around but they didn't seem so obvious. A flash of something races towards us and before I realize what is happening, V's in Chase's arms laying kisses all over his face. My gaze swings to the approaching brunette. Man she's stunning. Not a single girl in this place compares. I have it bad and this scares the shit outta me. I need to shake this off. Jade pauses in front of me.

"You girls behave yourselves?" I tease, trying to push away the emotions and lighten the mood.

Jade fakes offense, "Me? Always. Your sister on the other hand..."

"Lies! I'm an angel." V says, still hugging Chase.

"The prettiest angel in existence." Chase agrees.. V kisses him on the lips.

A retching noise pulls our attention to Vance, "C'mon, it's bad enough I see that shit at home."

V laughs loudly and slides down Chase then spins around to face Vance. "Yeah, you would think you'd be used to it by now. God knows I've had to see you slobber over a million girls."

"As long as there's no complaints from the ladies..." he pulls the girl whose arm he has wrapped around closer to him, "right baby?"

V starts to gag loudly, I can't help but laugh.

"Alright kids." Vin cuts in. "Who wants to go for a run?" he glances around the group.

"I'll go!" Vaughn shouts.

"Get ready to eat asphalt." Vin grins widely.

"You wanna bet?"

"Hell yes...easy money." Vin laughs. They both head towards their cars and drive off.
