I struggled to sleep last night, tossing and turning about Victor meeting up with that twat. My feelings for Vic are growing rapidly. I enjoy spending time with him, I like being able to make him smile and laugh. He's come such a long way and I'm hoping his meeting with her won't set him back. What if he decides to give her another chance? I know it's a long shot, but you never really know. They were married, they had planned a life together.
Vic didn't hide the fact that they were meeting, it wasn't some secret and I tried not to let it get to me. I schooled my unease as best as I could, I think I was successful. We joked, talked some more, even made plans to hang out. So that's a good sign. I need to stop obsessing. But it doesn't stop me from doing something insane. I text Zara: Wanna grab some lunch at the pub on Main this afternoon?
XXXX
We were seated in a booth where I had the perfect view of the door. The booths were tall and had added frosted privacy glass on top. Zara and I agreed to meet for brunch since she had to get Jack to practice at one. I told her my plans, which she agreed was slightly stalkerish. I'm losing my damn mind.
"I don't know J." She had said.
"He's come so far, I will not let this bitch ruin him again."
"He's a big boy, I think he can handle himself."
"You didn't see him break down."
"So what's your plan then?"
"I don't know."
I still didn't have a plan and Zara left fifteen minutes ago. My eyes obsessively volley between checking the time on my phone and the entrance.
It was five til' one when Melissa arrived. Her dress was skintight, cutting off mid-thigh. She was definitely trying hard. It made me smile a little. God I hope Vic kicks her to the curb. Luck was on my side then the hostess directed towards a booth just on the other side of mine. Vic arrived right on time, looking handsome as ever. My heart lurched at the sight of him, dressed in a simple Henley and jeans. I ducked near the wall of the booth since he was so tall he could see clear over the top.
"Hello Victor." I could hear Melissa greet Vic.
Just then the waitress came to my table, looking at me oddly pressed against the booth. I waved her away and whispered that I was okay. She backed away slowly. I made a mental note to leave her a great tip.
"Well I'm here, what's so important?" Vic asked his tone sounding curt and bored. Atta boy!
"You've been avoiding me Victor. We need to talk."
"I would think for someone who works with people you'd catch the hint that me avoiding you means I do not want to talk. I want you to sign the divorce papers."
"Baby, we can work this out. I miss you so much." I can't help but gag at hearing her call him baby. Vic's sigh is loud, I itch to go to him.
"We aren't working anything out, you need to get that through your head."
"Is this about that bartender?" I straighten at the mention of me, cause that's me, I'm bartender.
"Melissa, that's not any of your business."
"I didn't think you could stoop so low, a bartender really?"
"I could say the same for you, adulteress really?" He retorts and I stifle my laugh. Fuck yes!
"I am asking you to forgive me, I can forgive you for your sexcapades and the bartender. This is just a bump in the road, we can get over this." She pleads desperately.
"It's not happening Melissa. We are done. I want that divorce, sign the fucking papers."
"Don't you curse at me." I hear her hiss, "We are not over."
Before I know what I'm doing, I'm up and out of my seat and hauling ass to their booth. Vic eyes widen when he spots me and before he can utter a word, I'm on him like butter on toast. Sliding into the booth my lips clash with his, his shock evident but only for a second before he's kissing me back. My arms go around his neck, his hands moves to my waist, squeezing me. My tongue darts out to trace his lips, wanting to deepen this display for pure show but once our tongues meet it's much more than that. I've forgotten that we have an audience, his legal wife, sitting before us until she voices her disgust. "Victor!"
I rip away from him, still holding onto him and glance at the twat, "Oh sorry. Didn't see you there."
"If you don't mind, we were talking." She hisses.
"Actually, I do. See, we have a date."
"Victor!" she protests.
"Melissa, a word of advice. Begging isn't attractive. You fucked up, you lost a wonderful man. He's moving on, it's time you do too." I move out of the booth, grabbing Vic's hand and pulling him out with me. We walk away from a open mouthed Melissa, and I can only hope he feels as good as I do right this moment.

Whoop Whoop! Jade coming back with a nice proverbial slap in the face. This is much shorter than I intended but it's a big chapter.
This is the first chapter that formed when thinking of Jade and Victor's story, it's different than I had intended cause their story has slightly changed since it's birth.
All opinions, thoughts welcomed! I love to hear from you! Again, this is a very rough draft I am posting. There is no grammar editing. I want to say we're only half way through their story, so there's much more to come! I hope you're enjoy it regardless!
