A Part Of It (Avengers)

Chapter 49

"It's your job, this is what you signed for Captain Rogers." he replied back, couldn't believe his guts right now,

"This makes no sense." Thor starts to rub his temples,

"We may have signed for this life, but not in our homes and overall not where our families are." Wanda said, her eyes turning a crimson red colour, I couldn't blame her honestly,

"Calm down sister, there must be an explanation." Pietro said, putting his hand on her arm, she just shook her head,

"So what was the plan?" I asked, as nonchalantly as he was acting, crossing my arms,

"First it was to let them enter so we could get the doctor who participated in making, whatever it is they made, to James' arm." he said and I just zoned out for a second, something didn't seem right, on so many levels but something was really wrong with Nick,

"And getting your Goddaughter shot was a part of it?" Bucky asked through gritted teeth,

"What-" all of a sudden it made sense, he didn't know what Bucky was talking about, because he wasn't Fury, I got up as fast as I could, and jumped at his throat making him fly against the wall.

"Mia what are you doing?" I heard from behind me, I was holding onto 'Nick' with a strength unknown to me, but I was holding him,

"Let me go!" he started to scream,

"It's not him." I tell them all, my eyes still on 'Nick',

"What are you talking about?" Tony said, approaching me,

"He doesn't know who his Goddaughter is. He's panicking and there's something else I can't point my finger on." I tell them, Steve appeared next to me,

"And also he called Bucky, James, he always calls him Sergeant Barnes." I continue to prove my point,

"Loki come here." I called my cousin,

"Can you feel it too?" I asked him and he looked deep into 'Nick's' eyes and looked back at me nodding,

"You fools, it's me stop this instant!" he said again, but he was lacking a lot of confidence,

"Hold him for me." I asked Loki, and with is power he held him strongly against the wall, I took a step back and looked at 'Nick' once again. I concentrated and sparkled were forming all around my body already, I opened my eyes and looked at him again, I concentrated and entered his mind.

Let me tell you how right I was. 

Third Person POV

"What's happening?" Sam asked,

"She's in his head, she sees and feels everything. It can hurt some people but my best guess would be that she is hurting him on purpose." Loki said, looking back at Mia, who was glowing and had her eyes turn a very light shade of purple,

"Do you think she's right?" Bruce asked, over the screams of the wannabe Nick,

"Well I would bet my life on it." Nat said,

"Mental torture is the worst kind of torture." Bucky said slowly in his own corner,

Mia's POV

He was an Hydra agent that had been modified to look and sound like Uncle Nick, he had orchestrated the whole thing. 

 I could hear screaming, but still I didn't stop.

I could see everything, wars they had started. The plans they made, even some plans against us that thankfully we were able to undo and win against them. I saw how they had the idea to make a fake Fury, and how they got to transform this imposter into Nick. To how they managed to kidnap Nick and where he was. Thank God I knew where he was. Now I needed the last bit of information, there obviously were some Hydra agents disguised as S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, but who were they? I got to pass by one of his memories. The screams didn't stop and honestly I didn't know what was happening to the guy, I was way too concentrated to care. The memory was of a meeting, with a lots of people, on the table was a file with the Hydra logo on it and as they talked, I understood it was a meeting in order for those Hydra agents to become S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. I had every single photo and faces now in my head. Crazy to think I had even walked by some of them without noticing anything wrong. It drove me mad.
