"Oh for the love of- you didn't do anything wrong, Dream," Error shot back. His voice was harsh, but she knew he meant well. "I was the dumbass who didn't try to listen to you. I was the one who jumped to conclusions and assumed the worst – assumed the worst from you of all people; which, now that I think about it, was incredibly stupid."
"Well... that is a bit true," she noted, "you didn't really let me explain and did jump to conclusions unnecessarily."
"Yeah, I know." Error paused, his eye-lights glancing to Dream for a second, then back to the floor guiltily. "I've... been doing a lot of thinking since...since you, and, uh, that-that guy in the... in the bathroom and... well..." – Dream let out a shaky sigh – "I should've been there sooner. I should've spoken to you earlier, so we could've at least gone to the party together – or I should've told you to contact me and make sure we were close to each other just to be safe or..."
"Error, how could you've known about Nuit though?"
Error laughed; a bitter, mirthless laugh as he met Dream's eyes again. "Because I knew that douchebag was bad news from the beginning."
The two fell silent, too caught up in their own worlds to voice their concerns. Dream scooted closer to Error and tentatively rested her head on his shoulder, her eyes trained down.
Error looked down while Dream looked up, their eyes meeting. He smiled at her, a small and hesitant smile, but a smile nonetheless. Dream smiled at him, pressing her forehead into his shoulder and smiling stupidly. She let out a small giggle, which turned into a laugh as she wrapped her arms around him. Error chuckled with her, wrapping his arms around her and shifting to burry his head in the crook of her neck.
And they were content like that, hugging away their problems; content with forgetting everything and moving on. For some reason, they knew what each wanted to say to the other but... some things were better left in the past; and besides, not everyone wants to talk about trauma.

"D'you remember this is where it all started?" Dream asked into the silence, her hand tightening around Error's for a second. The other nodded, his mismatched eye-lights following their clasped hands up her arm and to her face, seeming, to Dream, to be hesitant.
"Yes," Error spoke, his voice softer than normal, "I remember you nearly falling off the cliff. I remember saving you, like I've done so many other times by now...."
"You're really going to flatter yourself like that?" Dream asked skeptically, her smile widening despite herself, "I thought the setting'd change that ego of yours a bit."
"It's hard to quench something so strong, Dream," Error countered, his own smile broadening as Dream rolled her eyes.
...
"...Dream...?"
"Yes?"
He hesitated. "Despite everything that's happened... would you consider... well..."
"Making... it official?" Dream finished hopefully.
He turned to her now, his eyes leaving the stars of Outertale to look at the star in front of him – to look at the one person he knew for a fact he loved. And he knew she still loved him – it would be so hard to overlook it what with the ways she looked at him, the admiration she showed for his every small accomplishment, and so on, and so on. She was stronger than she looked, he now knew – she was stronger than several Errors combined. So strange, he often thought, for such a small and kind and quiet person to be so strong in the face of awful things...
"Do you think it'd be so terrible for us to start again, but this time... as a real couple?" Error asked, holding onto Dream's hand just a bit tighter.
Dream's eyes were brimming with tears, her face flushed a beautiful gold as her smile seemed to shine in the dimness of the night. "Of course, Error, of course..." she whispered softly. "I've wanted to be yours for so long... and I've wanted you to be mine for longer...."
Error chuckled a bit, scooting closer and resting his head atop hers, as hers came to rest against his shoulder.
"I wouldn't want it any other way, Sunshine."
"Heh, me neither, Ruru..."

So. Here we are. The end.
My deepest apologies this took so long to finish up, but I only have the same excuses to offer you (school and unmotivation).
I would like to thank everyone who's read this, will read it, and to everyone who plans to read it in the future. It's been so wonderful reading all the stupid or funny or kind comments you've all been leaving - seriously, the support is deeply appreciated.
As a small note that will be added to the description later, I would like to say this: please don't assume these are the correct characterizations of the characters! I wrote them mostly like the original author did - no offence intended - but how they are written isn't entirely canonly accurate.
So please, take their characterization with a grain of salt.
Anywho, I'm tired of typing, and I'm so hyped to click that "Completed" option for this book so I can have it behind me (whooo another project I'll regret later more than I already do lol. Seriously, I dunno why you guys read my stuff).
Thanks for reading, and I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your day or night and definitly life! (and maybe consider checking out my other books...? maybe...?)
