"Yeah. I have everything ready for tomorrow night except for the name of my song, but I'll figure that out tomorrow. How's your training going?"
"We have final exams coming up soon, so we're getting worked pretty hard, but it's nothing that I can't handle!"
He told me about some of his training, and all that I could think was that I'd be dead on day one!
He told me about some of his training fights and it was fun to listen to him talk.
"And then Kirishima thought that he could beat me with his stupid hardening quirk, but I still beat him up! He put up a better fight than Dunce Face though! That idiot put all of his power into one attack and then he short-circuited!"
I must've looked confused because Katsuki explained.
"He goes all stupid and puts his thumbs up and says Yay! He can barely think!!!"
Katsuki said it like it was an annoying thing, but I felt kind of bad for Kaminari.
"Does it hurt him?"
"I never asked. Recovery Girl usually heals him, but eventually, he'll get stronger so that this doesn't happen."
I nodded as Katsuki talked, and I became less worried for Kaminari.
"How's Mina doing?"
"She hasn't studied at all, so she's panicking about the final exams. I only know because she begged someone to tutor her. I said no though."
I slammed a pillow against his head.
"You should help her!"
"NO WAY!!! If I help her then I have to help all of the idiots, and I'm not doing that!"
"Jerk."
"Have you ever studied with them?! I helped Kirishima one time and I had to beat the lesson into his skull!"
I knew that he wasn't going to change his mind, so I let it go.
"I'm pretty much ready for final exams, but mine will probably be a lot easier than yours. How we do at this performance does have a big impact on our grade though."
Katsuki frowned.
"You may be an idiot, but you aren't stupid enough to fail. Don't worry about it."
Was that his weird way of comforting me?
"Thanks, Katsuki. I'm sure that you'll do great too!"
"Of course, I will! I'm Bakugou Katsuki the future Number One Hero!"
I smiled at his confidence when I heard a car door shut outside and a yell.
"Katsuki! Get over here now!"
Katsuki grimaced and I laughed.
"You should probably get over there before she gets mad."
"Stupid Hag!"
Katsuki stomped to the door, looking ready to fight anyone in his way.
"See you tomorrow, Katsuki! Have a good night!"
"Bye, Y/N."
He slammed the door, and then I heard them yelling at each other, even after they got into their house.
I grabbed one of my favorite books and read on the couch until my parents got home.
As soon as my mom got home, she started supper and I helped her cook. By the time that Dad got home, the table was set and we were ready to eat.
"Are you ready for your performance tomorrow? Do you know what you're going to wear?"
My mom quizzed me between bites of food and I just smiled.
"Yeah, I'm excited for it! I do know what I'm going to wear, but it's a surprise!"
"Is your song ready? Can we hear it?"
They watched me intently as I swallowed my food.
"It's done, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear it! I'm pretty proud of it!"
I smiled brightly at them, and I watched them exchange a surprised glance.
I don't blame them though. It's been a while since I smiled like this, but I just couldn't help it! I couldn't wait to perform my song!
