chapter three. AOUAD
THIRD PERSON
Nabi was in the state of shock when someone pulled her away.
"The fuck are you doing standing right there? Do you want to die?!" It was Gwinam. He was holding a tray and was soaking wet because of the sprinkler in the cafeteria.
"What happened here?" The girl had nothing in her mind but questions. She's not stupid, she knew it was kind of a zombie apocalypse but a question that was bugging her was- "We have no time for your questions, let's go!" He pulled her hand to the kitchen where there are still a lunch lady and some students hiding.
Gwinam and Nabi hid under the spot which belonged to a student he pushed to save them both.
"You killed that guy..." Nabi whispered.
"I did that to save us," he whispered back and the girl had no choice but to only glare at him.
The two of them were quiet with a small distance from each other. Gwinam was staring at the girl, the girl he grew up with but lost contact as she moved to somewhere far, according to her Grandmother.
He remembered how they used to follow each other around when they were kids. They were like a duo.
Well that was before. 'She hates me now.' He thought to himself.
"Hey, Song Butterfly." He called her. She turned to him with an annoyed face. She had always hated that nickname.
"I'm-" Gwinam was cut off when a hand tried to reach for Nabi.
The girl immediately kicked the hand off like there was no tomorrow. She tried so hard not to shout so she wouldn't attract more zombies. The boy only watched her with amusement.
"You've got some moves there, butterfly. Where'd you learn it?" He asked, teasing the girl.
"Fuck off." The girl said and went out of the table. Gwinam panicked and followed her only to see her talking to a lunch lady who gave the girl a knife.
He was about to go to her when he felt a hand pulling him from behind. "Nabi!"
Nabi heard his call and immediately went to his aid. She stabbed the zombie in its head a few times before offering her hand to Gwinam.
That was a close one. The guy was already on the floor trying so hard to kick the zombie off of him.
Gwinam, who currently has blood on his face, didn't hesitate to hold the girl's hand.
