When I got to see my favorite person

As the four VKs walked through campus, not one girl forgot to say hi to Jay. Carlos watched as almost every girl flirted with his friend. Jafar's son loved the attention too.

"Why do you torture them?" Carlos asked as he smacked Jay's shoulder. He held a loose grip on Dude's leash so that he could walk right beside him. "Just pick someone to take to Cotillion already."
Jay laughed. "If I were to ask someone, then you wouldn't be able to ask her," he smirked. Carlos glared playfully at him as he continued. "Besides, if I go solo, then I can dance with all of them."
They laughed. "Ah, you're the expert." Carlos stopped Dude. "Um, Jay."

Jay stopped walking as his friend looked at him seriously. "If you were going to ask someone, what's the best way to go?"

Jay plopped a hand on Carlos's shoulder and smiled. "Listen, all you gotta do..." The white haired boy quickly nodded as Evie and Mal stood beside him. "...is look like me."
"Oh, ha-ha."

Jane and I ran down the walkway, finally finding the VKs. "Mal," Jane called as we walked up to them. Carlos's eyes averted to me and a smile grew on his face.
"Hey, (Y/N)."
"Hey," I smiled, waiting for him to say something.
"I was wondering... Uh..." his mind seemed to wander as he looked at me. Is he okay? He looked back at his friends, maybe hoping they would have an answer. I was so confused.

"If you liked the carrot cake last night?" he finally asked. I laughed.
"Carlos, you were sitting right beside me. I had the pumpkin pie. Remember?" I gave him a smile.

He looked down, slightly embarrassed. "Oh, right. Cool. Uh, uh..." However, Jay led him away before he could continue, whispering "Smooth," into his ear.

Carlos had been acting somewhat weird recently. But I couldn't do anything about it right now. Jane wanted answers from Mal. As Evie walked up to us, Lonnie joined us as well from the opposite direction. She looked at Jane and Lonnie with a smile. "I have an opening for a fitting at 3:00. Who wants it?"
"Me!" Lonnie quickly responded. "Sorry," she told Jane. Evie smiled.
"Perfect. I'll take you later. Okay," she told Jane.

As Mal went to follow Evie and Lonnie over near the stairs, Jane stopped her. "Mal."
"Yes."
"I hate to keep bugging you, but the Decorating Committee needs more answers," Jane explained beside me. I sighed as I adjusted my backpack, knowing that this would not go as smooth as Jane hoped. "So as much as I hate to, um...You know, um..."
"Bug me?" Mal asked.
"Right."
"Yeah. Jane, I would love to. I just have to get to class," Mal explained, trying to get away, but Jane beat her to it.
"You know, just nod if you like it."
"Okay," she laughed, seeming a little stressed.

As Jane turned to show her the decor on her tablet, she started naming off the different items rather fast. I just stood there, praying that the dragon wouldn't bite.

"Chair swags, entry banner, twinkle lights, napkin design, table bunting, and you still haven't picked the party favors yet."
"Honestly, Jane, whatever you or (Y/N)..."
"I mean, we can do chains, key charms, pen toppers. I kind of love the pen toppers, but, I mean, we can do all three-" Jane suddenly stopped as Mal's eyes glowed an evil green. Oh boy.

Mal looked down as she tried to smile and recompose herself. I gently held Jane's shoulders and tried to answer for Mal. "Um, Jane, I think we should go with the pen toppers. That way people could use them after Cotillion, for school too," I explained with a soft smile. I glanced at Mal, then back at Jane.
"Are you sure, because I can-"
"Yes. What (Y/N) said," Mal confirmed with an awkward smile.
Jane smiled at the two of us. "Ok! You won't regret it."
