It's quite peculiar when a building you didn't build with your empire colours sits so close but unnoticed for so long. That's why Scott needed to go inside and see what it was. Unfortunately, there was no entrance, so vandalism was required.
Landing down in a deep crouch, he saw 4 hallways with tall shelves filled to the brim with old, leather cased books collecting dust, and a lectern at the end of each.
One of the books showed all sorts of spells and curses. Another was a fairytale book. The third one was about all the important figures in their history, and the last was titled Book of Prophecies Past and Future. As he flipped through the book, one caught his eye.
Twin souls trapped in an endless battle since the beginning of time,
Chaos and order, light and dark, hot and cold.
One can not exist without the other, for if one soul dies, the other is sure to follow.
"Is it talking about me and Xornoth? So... so if I die he dies. And if he dies I die. Why is this so inconvenient!?"
Obviously, this put a complete stop to his original plan. Which was to trap the demon in the crystal, and either chuck it into the void ir throw it in lava. Maybe he would be ready to sacrifice himself one day, but that one day was not today.
