As soon as she saw Luthor, leaning on his black sedan she noticed something. He wasn't wearing his usual waistcoat suit but instead, he was clad in a white, round, loose shirt tucked in a 'somewhat' cream-colored vintage trousers and a perfectly clean white shoes. Lorelei also noticed the watch she gave him for his 25th birthday.
He kept it

When her eyes looked up to his face, it lingered there for 5 seconds
Ahh, the signature sunglassed, how can I forget?
She chuckled at her own thoughts and walked near her waiting iceberg.
"You are full of surprises Prosec, really full of surprises" Luthor shrugged which made Lorelei chuckle, she then tiptoed and kisses Luthor's right cheek.
The man is so tall, she could hardly reach. Good thing, the gentleman bended slightly to allow the woman to kiss him.
Both got inside the car and left the parking lot.
"Wait a minute, why aren't you in your 'work clothes'?" Lorelei asked a few minutes after they left her office. Right, he's a work-freak for goodness' sake. Nothing in his vocabulary states free time so–
"I asked for a day off" (I'M NOT QUITE SURE ABOUT THIS DAY OFF THINGY PERO FOR THE SAKE OF THE PLOT HAYAAN NIYO NALANG ISIPIN NALANG NATIN NAG-DAY OFF SI LUTHOR!! HEHE) he almost stepped on the breaks when Lorelei looked at him with disbelief. She literally inched forward to inspect her man, if he was telling the truth or not. Though, he itched to grab her waist and pull her closer because of that cute expression she's wearing, yet he didn't. Not when they're on the road to some lunch date.
She can't believe what she just heard. Him? Day off? She bursted, giggling like she heard something funny. Not that she meant it in a negative way it's just that it was so surprising and very unusual of Luthor. The man kept silent, glancing at his beloved with a small smile etched on his face. Her mood was infectious.
"But you said you were from your office?" she asked when her laugh died down. Maybe he did ask for a day off, he's not equipped for jokes and for lying too.
"I had to drop a document for reviewing. Our Director wanted to see through the recent cases I handled for the past two months" she nodded to his response.
The drive to the restaurant wasn't dull. As Luthor parked the car, Lorelei peeked and surveyed the surrounding. Her brows creased—this isn't a restaurant.
Well, they would often dine together and throughout those meetings, he would always bring her to the finest places. However, there seems to be a change of current. There were trees scattered all over the wide place, a slope covered with fescue grass that was neatly trimmed and a creek beneath the small manmade slope. Where did Luthor bring her?
However, peaceful was the only word Lorelei could utter. It felt like they were miles away from the city. The air was breezy and the sound of the flowing water was calming. She went near the creek and observed the clear water, there were small fishes just the size of her thumb.
Mesmerized by the beauty of nature, she felt like all her burdens from the city were lifted from her shoulders and when she turned around, she found Luthor with a basket on his right hand and a picnic cloth pinned on his left. He was walking back from his car and hadn't notice Lorelei taking a candid shot of him. She immediately hid her phone and smiled as she also walked back to there picnic place.
When she got near, she can't help but stare at him in awe, "I never thought you'd be this romantic Prosec" she teased as she began helping him organize everything.
"Started two years ago" Luthor eyed her and her cheeks flushed. She nudged him by the elbow, suddenly shy.
Two years ago, they met at the court, she was covering a case and bumped literally with him, infront of the restroom. Their first meeting after Univ was quite a memory to be remembered. From then on, they maintained in touch.
"How could you ever forget" she smiled and sat down on the mat.
Luthor did the same and checked his watch, "It's 12:15 we should hurry up".
He picked up a chicken salad sandwich and handed it to Lorelei who was busy staring at him. She still can't grasp the idea that they're here, having picnic and stuffs all done by the man beside her. The person least expected by his own brother, Loki whom quoted, "He may be good at prosecuting criminals, but he's bad at prosecuting someone's heart" (Loki, FOTQC).
I think you're wrong Loki, you're brother is just as sweet and just as soft as a cotton candy
She once again looked at her man.
I'll forever treasure this Lulu
Lorelei smiled to herself and fed Luthor the chocolate truffle cookies, "I'll buy you a strawberry-flavored cotton candy when we get back".
