Lorelei never thought she would be stuck in this situation. All she wanted was to go straight home, make herself a warm cup of cocoa and hit play on her favorite playlist on Spotify. However, she would probably have to postpone her plans for today.

The lady had already opened the door and was about to take a step outside Luthor's unit when a pair of familiar brown eyes met her gaze. Meanwhile, the woman blinked several times, totally confused on what was going on. She can't believe what she's witnessing and who she's seeing. Did she knock on a different door? But that couldn't happen, she's not that old to be forgetting her own son's unit number.

There was silence in the whole floor but it didn't last longer than 5 seconds when a smile flashed on the old woman's face, "Lorelei!" Frigette Mendez quickly locked Lorelei in a tight embrace.

They haven't seen each other for a long time and the present scenario's just too exciting for her.

"Mom, you're about to choke her" if Luthor hadn't emerged from the back, Lorelei would probably lose her breath.

Only when she noticed his son, did she released Lori and beamed widely at the sight of the two.

"Lulu, won't you invite your mother in?" she walked inside not waiting for an answer but pivoted and gave the two a meaningful look.

Lorelei's mouth fell agape like she wants to say something but no words were coming out of her mouth.

Why didn't you saw this coming? Of course you would have ran into Tita Frig any second of the day but I'm not prepared yet. I don't know what to do

she asked herself and dragged her feet back inside Luthor's house.

The couple stared at each other, Lorelei being more nervous. Luthor saw her tense poise and moved slowly towards her. He gently pinched Lorelei's cheek as if to wake her up. It did work 'cause she looked up to him and bit her lower lip, her fingers doesn't seem to stop fidgeting.

"She's just excited, don't be nervous. You knew Mom since highschool" Luthor smiled at her and caressed her shoulders.

His gentle touch calmed her down and she smiled back at him. She heaved out a deep breath before facing Frigette Mendez.

Yeah, I knew her since highschool and I witnessed her lawyer side, twice actually when she was in the Clarion office and the Police headquarters

Lorelei slightly shivered at the thought but anyway here she goes.

Luthor and Lorelei stared back at the beaming face of Frigette Mendez. Her excitement just won't contain and the first question she asked startled Lorelei the most, "When's your due date?".

If she was drinking, she could die of choking. What is it with Lorelei and choking?

She unintentionally touched her belly, her eyes widened and her lips parted as if to say something but it never came. She was too surprised of the question. Luthor looked sideways, avoiding everyone's gaze, the woman beside her doesn't know if he's hiding his laugh or hiding his naughty mind but Lorelei blinked several times as if her eyes were her mouth.

"Nah, I'm just kidding dear. I knew you would end up with one of my sons just didn't know how Luthor won your heart though" Frigette chuckled, and looked at the two lovingly.

"I'm just curious, Lulu, how did you court Lorelei? Oh, don't tell me you blackmailed her into going out with you" she side-eyed her son. She was seated with her legs placed on top of the other and her hands rested on her knee cap. Lorelei thought she's a queen or something.

"No, Mom. I personally and sincerely asked her out" she was waiting for follow up details but she knew her son well. He wouldn't talk about what he deemed personal or unimportant.

When she heard no other response, her gaze turned to Lorelei. The latter pursed her lips and glanced at Luthor who was maintaining a straight face. She silently rolled her eyes coward she thought and answered Frigette's question.

"Tita, your son is unromantic, he asked me out personally, but he did it outside the restroom, with lots of people going in and out. I have to drag him somewhere because it's kind of embarrassing-"

"-Love, haven't I told you that I was-that time being impulsive?"-"Impulsive? So you regretted asking me out now? For you to say it's just because of impu-"

"-No, what I'm trying to say is that I could've done better. But seeing you again made me think I couldn't let another day pass without asking you. I had to do it right then and there" Lorelei's face reddened, her brows were creasing but her lips were pouting cutely as if to stop herself from betraying her.

Frigette Mendez' soft laugh freed the couple from their own world. Lorelei straighten herself and bit her bottom lip. They almost forgot Frigette was with them.

"Okay, I think I've seen enough. I won't ask further questions. Calm your love, you two" she again chuckled.

"Honestly, I knew my Lulu was dating someone, just got no idea who, infact I considered the idea of investigating to know that's why I was here but-" she looked at Lorelei across her, "I don't need to do that since I knew my son's with the right person" Frigette smiled at her.

There was a moment of silence before Lorelei was able to respond, "No Tita, I am with the right person" she looked at Luthor beside her who's ears began to turn pinkish. He cleared his throat and looked away.

Frigette's eyes, if possible, was blinking hearts, she's happy for her son and for Lorelei.

"Anyway, I won't take too much of your time like I planned" she said as she stood up and picked up her purse, both did the same.

She walked near Lorelei and hugged her tightly, "I'm glad it's you. I really wanted to have you as my daughter-in-law" she whispered that made Lorelei's nervousness and uneasiness disappeared.

"When we meet again-" the hug continued,"- I hope we can talk about weddings and soon, little ones" Lorelei once again flushed at Frigette's words.

She smiled teasingly at her before walking her way outside Luthor's unit. She even yelled "Drive her home Lulu or else, someone will". Her son only closed his eyes and sighed.

As soon as the door closes, Luthor turned to look at Lorelei who was behind him. He was about to say something when Lorelei hugged him. He was astounded but he immediately hugged her back, "Should I ask why?" he hesitated but Lorelei chuckled.

"Nothing, I just wanted to hug you" she answered, "Can I have some wine? I feel like I needed one" she stormed his kitchen after breaking the embrace.

Luthor chuckled at the sight of her, Adorable he thought and followed his beloved inside.

Guess, that makes us official.
