since you had now chosen to spend your days off with her, lisa couldn't help but love you even more.

you were very skilled on the battlefield, however the same couldn't be said about your social skills.
because you chose to isolate yourself most of the time, you found speaking to people quite difficult. lisa was .. an interesting character, and she sometimes left you speechless. of course, you'd drown in embarrassment. but to lisa you were adorable.

the two of you quickly became inseparable, spending most evenings together in the library.
you even went as far as to sit next to each other in meetings.

today, though, it would just be you and jean in a meeting.
lisa was nervous. what if jean exposed her secret ? she was the only one to officially know of the librarians small teeny tiny crush on you.
or worse, what if jean liked you too ?!

lisa waited anxiously outside of the library, thinking of every possible scenario from the moment jean welcomed you into her office to the moment you walked out.

as you left, you seemed upset.
did jean tell you ? did you hate her now ?

"i'll be going on a trip to liyue. apparently the qixing paired with the traveller and requested for my help specifically. how bothersome."

lisa was glad jean didn't expose her, but now she was worried about you leaving.

"do you know why ? and how long will you be gone ?"

"i wasn't told much, all i know is that i need to leave next week. i'm sorry, but i'll have to stop our library meet-ups until further notice."

"will you write letters ? you co-"

"i am aware of all potential dangers. i have already worked out a path to take that involves minimal fighting so i can be in peak condition by the time i arrive in liyue. i will, of course, also write letters to you. i expect a response."

the two adults stood and stared at each other for a moment.

"miss lisa- sorry. lisa, would you mind if i hugged you ?"

the librarians brain was doing mental gymnastics by this point. she wanted to say yes so badly, but she was scared of making things awkward. then again, you asked very nicely and there was a chance you wouldn't see each other for a long time. in the end, lisa agreed.

"of course ! ah- could you please wait here a moment ? i'd like to give you something to remember me by while you're gone"

"it's not like i'm leaving permanently. unless .. that is what you want ..?"

"NO !- NO. no. of course not ! please don't say something like that-"

lisa quickly walked into the library, quietly hoping that she wouldn't expose her secret accidentally.
of course, you noticed lisa's strange behaviour and was worried for her.

you had to admit that in the short time you knew lisa, you had developed feelings for her. she was extremely pretty and was a humble lady too. another bonus was the fact she was a librarian.
in your eyes, she was perfect.

you walked up quietly behind the librarian and put your hands on her shoulders. lisa froze in place, silently dying inside.

"are you alright, lisa ? you're acting quite strange."

"everything is fine- i'm just .. thinking about things ..."

"like what ? if somebody is bothering you, give me their name and they will be dealt with. quickly."

lisa didn't know if she should be thankful or terrified. or both.
she decided she would shoot her shot before you left because she didn't know how long you would be gone for. she feared the possibility of you running off with another woman in liyue, completely forgetting about your friday meet-ups.
gripping the romance novel she planned to give you tightly, lisa sighed before deciding to speak. this could start a serious relationship between the two of you

but it could also ruin the friendship you had

lisa was scared, but she had to tell you while she had the chance.

"nobody is bothering me. sort of- i mean, it's hard to explain .."

"i have time to listen, most of my things are already prepared for the journey to liyue, so for the most part i'm free until then."

"i ... have feelings for you. please don't hate me for it. i had to tell you before you went to liyue though, just in case you met anybody else. it probably seems selfish now but-"

you removed your hands from lisa's shoulders and instead hugged her from behind, which seemed to completely fry the woman's brain.
you laughed slightly at her reaction, and slowly but surely she turned around and hugged you back.

"you had no need to worry about me looking for anybody else."

lisa's blushed profusely

"you're my favourite librarian and my favourite person. i believe you are perfect. if anybody disagrees, they're simply wrong."

she tried to reply, but her voice wouldn't allow her the possibility of doing so.

"i look forward to your letters, miss lisa."
