A Heist Gone Bad

The lesson had begun and each girl was going through their circuit one last time. You spun on your heel and went right into a back handspring. Just as you landed an explosion went off causing you to slip and lose your balance. You hit the mat with an "oof" as screams sounded out from the other girls. You looked towards the direction of the explosion in confusion. Then, you realized that it came from the university's dorm rooms. Panicked, you looked for a clock and saw that it said 1 pm.

"No! No, no, no, no! Don't tell me-!" You mumbled to yourself as you scrambled up and abruptly turned around and started running for the lockers.

"Berry?! Where are you going?!" Chrissy's voice called after you.

The explosion would cause Enforcers to come into the university to check on the students. You couldn't be seen here since you weren't actually on the list. Only the students knew that the professor brought his niece to work. The Enforcers have never seen said niece come and go with the professor. When they checked and didn't see your name, they'd think it was you who caused it and snuck in.

You yanked your locker open, grabbed your bag, and stuffed your clothes in it before taking off. You didn't give yourself time to change, too panicked about your situation and what could have happened to the others. You skid past an Enforcer, "Hey! STOP!" They yelled in your direction and you cursed your luck. You quickly pried the window open 'Why is it closed?!' and vaulted yourself out of it. Hurriedly climbing to the roof, you heard screaming coming from down the street, which was the direction you needed to head in.

Taking a deep breath to steady yourself, you started running again, jumping across rooftops and trying your best to stay hidden. Nearing the bridge, you glanced down and your eyes widened when you recognized Vi and her team fleeing from a squad of Enforcers.

You cursed and leapt down from the roof, dropping right on top of the Enforcers! Your whole body vibrated as you crashed into them. You didn't give yourself time to think as you got up and kept running. Your body was aching but you couldn't stop to care about it. Narrowing your eyes, you grabbed one of your zappers and turned it on. The electricity crackled and you jabbed it against one of the Enforcers in front of you. They screamed, falling to the ground in pain causing the others in front of you to glance back and notice you. Vi's eyes widened when she saw you. You turned off the zapper and pushed yourself to run faster.

Passing the Enforcers, you ducked out of their grasps as Vi reached back and grabbed your hand. She pulled you along with her, dragging you across the bridge and your eyes widened when the drawbridge started to rise. The Enforcers behind you kept screaming at you to stop as you jumped the gap and kept running. Vi turned down an alley shouting, "This way!" to the others, her grip on you tightened as she made rushed turns, her shoes sliding against the pavement.

You heard Vi grunt followed by a clanging sound and hot steam blasting into your face. Disoriented, Vi's hold on you was the only thing keeping you on track. The fast turns and sudden change of events were making you dizzy. She slid to a stop and tore a sewage cover off of a pipe. Your eyes widened in shock as Mylo looked down into it, "Awe, man, not again! I just got this shirt-!" Vi kicked Mylo down the pipe causing you to snicker before she gestured to Claggor who jumped down, followed by Powder.

"Um, Vi-?" You looked at her but the urgency in her eyes forced you to shut up and jump in. You screamed as your body slid through the dark, smelly tunnel and a gasp forced its way out of your mouth as you landed in a garbage pile. Two seconds later, Vi fell from the tube as Mylo started complaining.

"Thought last time was the last time we were gonna do this?" Mylo said in disgust.

'Last time?! How many times have they done this?' You grumbled to yourself as you stood up. You dusted off your tights and sighed. You'd be taking a long, cold shower to get this smell off of your skin.
