A memory flashed before your eyes of your younger brother having an anxiety attack before it faded back to the guy in front of you. Your eyes flicked to his hair and you realized that it was white. The world stopped around you.

"K-Kiko?" You stuttered out quietly. 'He looks older. Why does he look older? He's not ten anymore. Why doesn't he look eleven anymore?' Water splashed onto your hand and you realized that you were shaking as well. The healer took the cup from your hand and stepped out of the way before closing the door behind her. You moved so your legs were hanging off the edge of the bed. You wanted to jump down and run to him but you didn't know how your strength would be.

"Sis? Y-Y-You're- You're awake." Ekko choked out as he took a step towards you.

"I'm awake, Kiko." You responded roughly but thankfully your voice didn't crack. That broke whatever trance Ekko was under. He sprinted to you, lunging to close the gap and pulled you into a crushing hug, "You're awake!" He sobbed into your shoulder. You wrapped your arms around him and found yourself sobbing as well. Relief flooded your veins as Ekko clung to you. "I-I th-thought I l-lost you! That-That day, I-I-I-" Ekko couldn't finish his sentence. He was shaking horribly and you just held him even tighter.

"I'm here. I'm here." You whispered to him through your tears, "I'm here. I'm alive, Kiko. I'm alive." You rubbed his back as he cried harder. You didn't care how long you sat there while he cried. You held onto your brother tightly, still in disbelief as to how everything has turned out. 'Why doesn't he look ten anymore? He's gotten taller too. How long have I been unconscious?' You were so confused. Ekko pulled away and wiped the tears from his eyes. He pulled a chair over and sat down with a heavy sigh.

You watched him silently as he shifted before he made eye contact with you, "This is... This is a lot. A lot has changed since you've been unconscious." Ekko turned to face you, "How are you feeling? What do you remember?" A soft chuckle left your throat. Ekko was always straight to the point when it came to important things.

"I feel... I feel okay. A bit dizzy, maybe?" You drank some more water, "I remember everything. You woke me up, then I ran off to help Vi, found Powder, then there was an explosion... and what happened after the explosion." You said softly.

"Can you... Can you tell me what happened?" Ekko questioned hesitantly. He had a nervous expression on his face.

"Of course, I can." You sighed and tapped your fingers on the bed, "When I got there, I found Powder. She was panicking and freaking out. She dropped these crystals into her jolly monkey and by the time I got to her, she had sent it on its way. From what I could gather, Vi and them were in danger and Powder was trying to help. I asked her what they were and she said it's what caused the explosion in Piltover a few days prior." You bit your lip as tears formed in your eyes. Ekko grabbed your hand and you gave him a small smile.

"Then, they exploded. I had just enough time to push Powder out of the way before the blast hit me. It sent me flying and I couldn't move. I don't know if it was the shock or the terror... but the next thing I knew-" You choked as the tears started coming down harder as your memory of falling on the metal rod surfaced. You took a shaky breath, "The next thing I knew... was nothing but pain. From what little strength I had left, I realized that I had been i-impaled. I-It was so bad-" Ekko got up and wrapped an arm around you. It was difficult for you to tell your brother this, but you had to. "...There was nothing I could do and I couldn't believe I let you down. I was dying... bleeding out and I was helpless to stop it." Ekko pulled you into a tight hug and let you cry. The feelings of shame, guilt, and helplessness crept back in and burned in your chest. You sniffled and pulled away from the hug. It really set in how lucky you were to be alive. You and Ekko sat in silence for a moment. You looked around the room and realized that it was a patient's room, so you must've been in a medbay.
